We live on the property and aim to be available for whatever needs arise and happy to make recommendations for activities around town. However, the Barn Loft location is separate and private, all windows and access points facing away from our residence.

Located just down the road to SLO's best wineries / vineyards, and/or a stone's throw the other way in to the heart of downtown SLO. If you are a Cal Poly family, the campus is a short 3 mile drive.

Guests will have access to the Barn Loft, deck space, Barn Yard and driveway area only. The space is designed to face away from the main house + is separate from the main living space of the homeowners, who use the rest of the property for their full-time residence and occasionally rent it out as well. The Barn Loft feels very private! Guests have 2 free parking spaces directly in front of the barn, steps away from the Loft access. We live in a beautiful neighborhood with sprawling properties - it's a great place for a leisurely stroll!

Comfortable accommodations for 4 (2 queen beds), living space with plenty of comfy seating, a full kitchen, and a beautiful bathroom with laundry facilities. Vaulted ceilings, tons of natural light, newly built... you won't want to leave!

Uber is widely used in this area - a great option to get here from the airport (just a couple miles away) or around town. If you have your own transportation, wineries, hiking + downtown are all within a couple miles. Several beach options are nearby: Avila Beach (7 miles), Pismo Beach (8 miles), Morro Bay (14 miles), Montana de Oro (14 miles) and San Simeon (41 miles).

While we are in the country, we are on the city line and directly across the street is a newer neighborhood. The main road in front of the Barn home is a 2 lane road but does get a little busier during morning and evening commute hours. If noise sensitivity is an issue for you, we provide a white noise machine for our guests in each bedroom. Only a few of our hundreds of guests have made small comments on the road noise, it really doesn't seem to bother the vast majority of people.

Weekend Getaway

Wow, this property is too cute!! We enjoyed a weekend away with our infant. Sean and Lindsey had such great accommodations for our family. The location is right off a road but still very quiet. The view from the living windows are amazing. We really enjoyed the comfortable hot tub. It was a perfect place to relax and unwind from our busy world. Thank you so much

We loved everything about Black Barn Ranch...I'm not sure how to describe the inviting atmosphere, the private yard with a Jacuzzi, fire pit, & picnic table, to the cookie dough in the freezer for homemade cookies. Geographically it was so close to downtown SLO. We will be back!!

Peaceful, Family Friendly Country stay with all the amenities

The Black Barn exceeded our expectations and was perfect for our family (2 adults, 1 toddler and 1 infant). It’s the little things that made our stay easier, like arriving with the pack n play already set up, a personalized letter, and clear checkin instructions. Plus local touches like a map for all the farms to visit, a local magazine and sweet treat in the freezer. A highlight was walking each evening to see the goats (who just had babies). Our toddler loved visiting them each evening and we loved the walk (not too far and only a slight hill which makes pushing the stroller on the paved road easy). Can’t beat the location, a place with the fresh air and views of a country stay that was so close to town. We cooked all our meals and the black barn was stocked perfectly. We hope to come back!
