Relaxation Station on Grassy Mountain - Open April though October
Nestled off a private loop on Grassy Mountain near Little Switzerland, a rental cabin awaits you. 'R' Place is a family-owned 3-bedroom cabin named for the Matriarch (Ruby) who envisioned a place of Relaxation, Rest, Rejuvenation, and Refreshing activities. The double-decked structure offers a view of Mt. Mitchell and sometimes a bear and her cubs. It is the perfect place to enjoy a family dinner and a movie or to plan the next day's adventure. Relax in the large Jacuzzi tub and refresh yourself with a good night's sleep in one of the Sleep Number beds.

The cabin was impeccable with plenty of space. The view is terrific off the deck and it was quiet. The host left wonderful history of the area that made us want to explore more.
The host is super welcoming and cordial. The location is absolutely gorgeous and amazing. Overall this cabin on the mountain exceeded our expectations.
Great communication and very cozy/clean spot. As stated in descriptions, the last bit of mountain gravel road is somewhat of a challenge (not too intimidating) but boy is it worth it for the view. Lots of space. Would stay here again
Relaxation Station is an accurate name for this place
Wonderful stay, with plenty of room for a good sized family. Tucked in the woods gives you a real sense of your surroundings. Other than constant planes flown over head ( flying lessons I believe from local airstrip), peace and tranquility
House was very clean and comfortable. The area is amazing with the mountains and switchback roads. This house is all about relaxing ! Communication with host was excellent
From our initial booking, communicating with Lois was a delight. We were already excited to getaway as a little family but she sweetened the deal with her kindness. She even gave us ideas of things to do locally with our kids ages 4-10! Our family loved the cabin -- it was literally a little piece of paradise. The views were spectacular and we were able to disconnect and truly enjoy time together. If you're looking for a place to getaway, look no further!
The ride up to the cabin was intimidating (especially the first time!) but totally worth it! The view was beyond our expectations. Lois and Dan made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay memorable. Movies, books, games, places to snuggle and more. Loved it!!
Beautiful property, just as described. Well equipped house with everything you could need. Plenty of books, movies, board games, etc., and Pool Table and Foosball in basement to entertain if you need it. Or just take in the spectacular views from the back decks. Lois communicated very well, and everything was great!!
Beautiful cabin tucked away in sweet Little Switzerland! Great neighborhood and close to the Blue Ridge Parkway! House had everything we needed, great views, comfy beds, stocked kitchen and the jetted tub was amazing! Will always try and stay here on our visits to NC, wonderful place, thank you!
I loved the cabin layout. It is great for family or friends. Plenty of room and privacy for all.
Beautiful view of the Mountain. Would definitely come back.
While we used this rental functionally - to house a disc golf team during a competition - the location and ambience make for an unbelievable stay. It is beautiful, relaxing, and met our every need including cost effectiveness. Highly recommended for whatever your vacation might require.
My family really enjoyed our 4 day weekend at Relaxation Station! We could not get WIFI at this time, because of the damage from hurricane Helene. You don't need WIFI with this spectacular view. We had booked for 8 people, but only 4 got to go, so we had space galore. Everything was expected, with plenty of everything you would need. Would love to go again for longer.
Awesome cabin; however for the older crowd maybe a hand rail for steps. Cabin was great and offered lots to do just at cabin from playing pool, reading books to enjoying a family movie. Will definitely stay again.
The property was as wonderful as the description! Everything was clean and well- cared for. The road up to the house was a bit of an adventure, but that just added to the fun. We will definitely be going again!
We loved this beautiful mountain home. It was very clean and comfortable and had a beautiful views. There was lots of space and much to do. There were several televisions and lots of books and games. We really enjoyed the pool table. It was a great place to be with family.
This house is owned by Dan and sister Lois. We fell in love with Little Switzerland while traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway. We bought the property 20 years ago and finished this house in 2010. We harvested trees from the site and the family farm in West Virginia to make flooring and poplar paneling and cabinets. Both of us are retired teachers and enjoy our time in the mountains with our families.
