Lovely and charming home. easy parking, close to town. The interior was clean and more than presentable. All amenities excellent. Lovely rear deck. We did not use the outdoor grill or television, so cannot comment. Would likely try to rent here again!Susan

Loved the proximity to everything, walkable to so many things right in Vineyard Haven. 2 min drive to Stop and Shop and the ferry. Easy drives to all areas of MV. A nice back porch for relaxing. Perfect weather didn't hurt!
Great location - easy walk to town and everything in Vineyard Haven. Host is so nice and easy to communicate with - checked in on us a few times via text to make sure we had everything we needed! Definitely recommend!

We are SO happy you enjoyed your stay ! Hope to see you again :)
The home felt like I was walking into a families home. I would call it "Grandma Chic". The old books, furniture, etc was like a time capsule. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds comfy and the space was perfect. The location to town was walkable.

We had a wonderful stay. The house is charming and the owner communicative and the perfect level of attentive. It was a treat to be able to walk to town. House was well cared for, had beautiful details and a lovely book collection. Love an outdoor shower! Also it was so generous to have access to beach accoutrement. The king bed was very comfortable.

Hi--thank you so much! We are happy you enjoyed your stay!
Great location close to downtown VH, with the supermarket, ferry and buses nearby, yet in a quiet lovely residential neighborhood. We loved cooking in the well- equipped kitchen and grilling on the spacious deck surrounded by birds and greenery. Beds were extremely comfortable! Communication with our host was excellent and the outdoor shower with hot and cold water was wonderful after the beach. We took the quality beach chairs on the buses to explore the whole island, including Aquinnah. We loved our stay, and were so sad to leave, but we can’t wait to return!

We LOVED this house for our MV vacation! The location is fantastic. It's quiet, yet just a few blocks to downtown Vineyard Haven, the water and the ferry. Everything inside was clean and comfortable. Air-conditioning worked well, although the week we were there, it wasn't terribly hot. The beds, the kitchen, the living room, the bathrooms...all were comfortable, well-stocked, well-appointed, exactly as described. And Darlene was a fantastic host! She kept in touch via text and made sure we had everything we needed. The only thing I would say is that it is a Cape-style home, so it is a bit cozy, but that's the nature of Capes. It was great for our family of four. Everyone had their own space and privacy. We would happily, happily come back here again. Of all the places we've ever stayed on the island, this one is our absolute favorite!! Thanks so much!

I would have given it 5 stars except for the fact the house is not air conditioned and the back porch is very small. There is a small window a/c unit in a bedroom on the second floor, but it does not cool the entire house. The host has provided floor fans for each bedroom. The house is fragrance free and does not appear to have mold/mildew in the first and second floors. You can walk to the center of town. You have to bring your own sheets, pillow cases, towels, and washrags. Make your ferry reservations as soon as you confirm your dates.

Unfortunately, it was like staying at a your great aunt's old home. Yes, that is authentic, which is the nicer way of saying "musty"; meanwhile, it is intended for summer stays, and the fans were insufficient, and everyone was sweltering through the nights, as the temperature never dropped below 83F in the house, even at night. The TV was 20 years old and 20 inches, much of the furniture was of a quality you would donate to Goodwill, and some was low quality and broke with normal use. The fact that the owner would potentially exploit that situation to charge us for their poor quality furniture is frustrating and galling. It is also less than satisfying to be told after booking that we need to bring our own linens and towels, a point that should be extremely prominent before deciding to rent the property. Sure, you can pay extra to rent or bring your own, but we're paying rent and cleaning fees to not have to make and strip the beds.

Clearly you can see we have 21 fabulous reviews on this home. This was an angry person, who was not enjoying the heat wave on the island during his stay. We even let him check in early- which was not appreciated by him.
Each room on the first floor has a ceiling fan and additional floor fan. Total of 6 fans on the first floor. The second floor is cooled by a 14,000 BTU air conditioning unit and 2 more additional floor fans. There is a 24” wall mounted TV in the living room space, the neglect in this posting is the failure to mention there is a brand new 40” TV on the second floor opposite the king bed. Furniture quality: the living room was redecorated last year with a brand new 90” contemporary couch, 2 occasional chairs and 2 leather recliners along with new carpeting. The kitchen was renovated this May with new counter top, tile floor and upgraded cabinet hardware and lighting. The bedrooms are furnished with expensive antique mahogany dressers and bed frames which are not low quality. The fact that one of the beds was damaged on admission of the guest who refused to pay for the damage is certainly not ethical when taking responsibility for damage is a common courtesy. Anyone reading the post should take these mean-spirited comments for this 4 day rental into consideration and look at the many 5 star reviews this property has been given over the past 10 years. The tenant broke the bed and we very very kind not to charge him. Linens: We had emailed this tenant that he needed to bring or rent sheets and towels 5 times! And even once before he booked! And this is stated on the lease that he signed! The listing does not say that we provide sheets and towels. This was not a surprise and stripping the beds of linens brought by the renter is part of the process.

Nice stay but....
My family rented this house for two weeks. The morning we checked out, we cleaned the house because we wanted to leave it as we found it even though we knew the cleaners will come and do a thorough cleaning, which we paid for included in our contract with the owner. We travel a lot and we know to take pictures and videos whenever we leave a house. We sent a thank you note to the owner along with pictures and videos just to make sure that we left her house neat. This is just curtesy.
A day later, we were surprised to receive a note from the owner saying that the cleaners charged her extra because the house was left in such a mess that they spent hours and hours cleaning it. The owner said she will keep some of the security money. We were appalled and shocked. We re-sent the pictures of all the rooms and along with the videos to show the state of the house as we left. The owner apologized to us and gave us back our security deposit.
Aline Cleaners Inc., the cleaning company that services the house, made up a story just to scam us for more money but unfortunately, the videos and photos proved them wrong.
This is not an honest company. Be aware of their deceptive practices. I would not hire them for cleaning.
Even though we enjoyed staying in this house, we were disappointed by what transpired after we checked out.
We loved our stay in Martha’s Vineyard. The hosts were very communicative and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. The property was great and had plenty of room, a nice deck and an outdoor shower that is great when coming back from the beach. Not that anyone really cares, but the pans they have to cook with were great as well which helped saved on food costs. We would absolutely book again and really did not want to leave the island. Thanks!!!

The house is very close to downtown Vineyard Haven, which was important for our stay. The house is very clean and there were enough rooms to accommodate everyone in our party! The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was fully stocked with everything needed to cook, and communication from our host was excellent! I would highly recommend this house!

This home was awesome! It has the best location for exploring the island. Walking distance to and from town and easy to catch the bus to the other towns. Everything that we needed was in the home. Annette was extremely helpful with providing accurate information for the town and check-in and things to do. She was so thorough that I didn't have any questions. The house was very nice and cozy and beds were comfortable.

Hi--thank you so much! We are happy you enjoyed your stay!
This was our first time staying in MV. We chose to visit after Labor Day to skip the summer crowds and it did not disappoint us, the weather was still warm and there were plenty of interesting places to visit. The house is cozy and has enough room for a family 6-7 people, the owner has made efforts to stock cleaning supplies, beach items, bikes, etc. we enjoyed the close proximity to Vineyard Haven Main Street although the Look Street Road tends to be noisy in the early morning. If you are looking for a trendy place to stay, look elsewhere in Edgartown or Oak Bluff.
