Maui's Best OCEANFRONT Condo!!! See whales, turtles & sunrises from our lanai!

Aloha and Mahalo for visiting our condo. The Maalaea community is Maui's best kept secret. Our 2nd floor oceanfront condo has been completely updated and modernized for your enjoyment.

Upon opening the door you will be greeted with an amazing view of the ocean and feel the trade winds of Maui throughout this open and airy condo.

The kitchen features recessed lighting, extensive modern white cabinetry, granite counters, large island, undercabinet lighting, microwave, built in oven, cooktop, and a full size refrigerator and dishwasher. There is also a washer and dryer in the condo which is a huge benefit. We have added a touch of Hawaiianna to the condo with natural BOHO rattan bamboo furniture, including bar stools, chairs and tables.

Should you need to work while in paradise you can use the free standing desk equipped with 7 outlets, a light and clock, and you will also find USB equipped outlets throughout the condo. The internet is free wired and wireless, and has hotel level high speed connectivity. The condo also features a private landline telephone with free US and (most of) Canada calls.

The living room and bedroom feature Samsung smart TVs with cable television.

The bedroom features a new Beautyrest King bed, large closet and a tall armoire with drawers. The bathroom features a tall toilet, walk in shower, quartz countertop, recessed mirror cabinet, and lots of racks for hanging.

The lanai is by far the most popular part of the our condo. Oceanfront and private, the lanai features a bar height Polywood table and chairs perfect for watching the sunrise over Haleakala and all the sea life that Maui has to offer.

To keep you cool, the lanai also features a Coolaroo roller shade. The condo features a wall air-conditioner however you will find the nice Maui trade winds keep you cool.

Right on Maalaea Bay, where whales entertain you (in season) and turtles frolic in the water, our condo will not disappoint you!

Outside are beautifully kept grounds, a bbq area, tables for dining, and a solar heated hot tub and pool. There is a small beach area(see photos) with gated access which is perfect for sitting in beach chairs while the sun sets, or for watching the turtles who often come on shore to warm up. The beach also is great for hunting for glass and you will find some of it within the condo as we have added accents. The water access is by far a benefit of our location as snorkeling, kayaking, or SUP has never been easier. There are many sources for rentals in the area.

Beach walking has never been better when you stay with us. Access to Sugar Beach is just a short walk down the street where beautiful sand will greet you for 5+ miles. You can easily walk to Kihei and enjoy the beautiful sights and sounds of Maui on your way.

The condo is centrally located and close to activities and attractions, but quiet and relaxing....not a noisy, busy resort! You will find that returning to our condo after a busy day of activities will give you a sense of calm and relaxation!

A very short walking distance from our condo is the popular Maui Ocean Center & Aquarium with restaurants and shopping options. Fine dining to a quick burger is available by a short walk. Across from the Maui Ocean Center is Maalaea harbor where water activities are available for snorkeling, diving, sightseeing and dining adventures. The central location of our condo lies between two major tourist areas, just a 20 minute drive in either direction, to Kihei / Wailea on one side and Lahaina/Kaanapali on the other.

We are a 15 minute drive from the airport, and five minutes from two golf courses....all the attractions on the island are nearby!

We will also help you in recommending rental car agencies that are affordable as we rent a car every year we visit.

We have owned and rented this condo for 20 years and we are not new to the process. We will make your stay the best it can be and you can communicate with us anytime.

Ken and Lori’s place is spectacular. The view is amazing. There is a sandy beach that goes for at least a mile for sunbathing, snorkeling or your morning beach walk. The beach is adjacent to a national wildlife refuge. The neighborhood is quiet, well except for the lapping of the waves on the beach. Ma’alaea is a small harbor village with several restaurants and shops within walking distance. The pace is less hectic and less crowded than the bigger resort towns and yet pretty much everything you might need or want is within a 10-15 minute drive. The apartment itself was perfect for the 2 of us. And, if you like to cook, the kitchen is amazingly well stocked with dishes and equipment. The lanai is truly oceanfront. We spent a lot of time out there watching sunrises and sunsets. If we come back to Maui, and we’re hoping we will, we would definitely stay here again.

Great view and well organized

Stayed for a month while working on island. Maalaea Banyans is a perfect place to stay. Short drive to most places you want to go. Beautiful beach is a 5 minute walk away. The condo is just right for a couple and has everything you need. Kitchen is well organized and we did a lot of cooking there. Finally the view of the ocean is unobstructed and really priceless.

Getaway from Calgary was Perfect!

What a nice quiet area to stay on Maui....! Well appointed condo had everything we needed and was very comfortable and clean. We loved to sit in the hot tub with a refreshment and watch the stars. Lanai views were awesome and we spotted lots of whales! Central location is nice too....this was our 2nd time staying at the condo....we'll be back!

We really enjoyed our stay here. There was no piece of equipment that wasn't available in the kitchen! The communication was excellent! And we were able to sleep with the door to the lanai open (2nd floor) every night and hear the waves crashing. I miss that sound!

Great property and location for a young couple

My girlfriend and I found this property to be perfect for our 8-day trip to Maui. The unit was exactly as described on the listing and communication with Ken and Lori was prompt and easy. The location was great as it was central to many of the places we wanted to explore around the island. We enjoyed seeing turtles from the balcony every morning and afternoon. The unit is a short walk from a few restaurants in Maalaea and an easy drive to the beaches in the Lahaina and Kihei areas. We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit and recommend it to anyone who prefers a quieter spot with great views. Mahalo Ken and Lori for sharing your home with us!

Luxurious end to our multi-island vacation!

Maui was our last of four islands on a two-week vacation, and wrapping it up at Ken and Lori’s condo was just perfect! Spacious and clean, centrally located, and very comfortable. The incredibly well-stocked kitchen and washer/dryer were very helpful, and the private lanai overlooking the ocean is wonderful! We aren’t typically drawn to pools or hot tubs, but we enjoyed both! Daytime outings included a Haleakala sunset; snorkeling at Honolua Bay; relaxing on a nearby beach; and gorgeous drives along the western shore and the Road to Hana. As many as 15 turtles per night came to rest on the beach in front of the condo at sunset—magical! Staying here was a relaxing and beautiful end to a wonderful vacation. Thank you, Ken and Lori!

Cozy and relaxing condo

My wife and I enjoyed or eight-night stay in this cozy and relaxing condo. The unit was very clean, well equipped, and offered a fantastic vantage for watch the numerous pods of whales right from the lanai. The cable and internet worked well but the TV was very small. Normally wouldn't ever watch TV on vacation but we enjoyed watching the local vacation travel info site to learn of the island activities. The condo property manager was enjoyable to talk with and offered tips and information on the many great thing to see and do while in Maui.

We celebrated our Anniversary here and loved every minute! Property is perfectly located, loved seeing Molokini, Haleakala from the lanai; but mostly loved watching the turtles feeding during the day and parading in to rest on the beach at night. We love hiking and snorkeling and had such a great time! Walked to the harbor to join a snorkeling catamaran to Molokini (Trilogy I- excellent), drove to Hana the back loop and enjoyed the all the hikes and views, also Huli Huli chicken at the Red Sand beach! Ken’s tips and suggestions were so helpful and we appreciated all his advice! Grounds of condo are beautiful and well maintained as well!! Very thankful for a blessed trip!!

Great condo in a mellow part of Maui. Away from all the tourists BUT centrally located to everything on Maui. This condo has a fabulous view and a great , relaxing beach just a very short walk away (the beach right outside the condo is a little rocky). Condo has everything you need and the owners are very responsive. The building is great too: grounds are beautiful, staff is friendly and very safe. Walking distance to the harbor and a little shopping center that has a few restaurants with great Happy Hours. Lahaina is about 20 minutes away and Kihei is less than 10. Will definitely stay at this condo again. Almost forgot... there are sea turtles in the ocean by the condo. Just walk out the gate and there they are!

Beautiful inside and out

Our stay in Maalaea could not have been better. The accommodations were clean, comfortable and complete. Most importantly, the hospitality of the owners and their nearby helper was top notch. We felt completely at home - except for the beautiful ocean view, the sounds of the waves and the pleasant Maui breeze. We could tell right away with the tone in the communication that everything was going to be perfect. This property is well cared for and truly meant to keep guests comfortable. The central location is perfect for getting around the island and the complex is a nice and quiet retreat at the end of the day. We certainly will return (as a matter of fact we rebooked before we left). You know the vacation was great when you schedule another in the same place before you even leave.

We absolutely LOVED everything about our stay at Ma’alaea Banyans #208! The condo had everything we needed and more! The view is spectacular! We have been to Maui many times but this was the first time staying in this area and we found it to be perfectly centrally located to enjoy many things on the island. The trade winds were lovely and we never felt we needed the A/C at all. It’s such a nice, quiet area. The pool is refreshing and well maintained. We enjoyed watching many turtles in the water over by the bbq area. Communication with Ken & Lori was OUTSTANDING! Our only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer. We highly recommend this condo and will absolutely look into booking it again next time we plan to return to Maui. Mahalo Nui Loa 💕🤙🏼

Lori and Ken, We just want to say Thank You for sharing your Piece of Paradise! Your condo was Perfect for us!! Absolutely beautiful balcony overlooking an Absolutely beautiful view. We had everything we needed and more. We enjoyed the pool, hot tub, grounds and views. Buzz and Cathy were so nice and very helpful during our stay. We loved being so close to Sugar Beach. We took long daily morning walks on the beach. Our little village of Maalaea was walking distance. We spent time at Beach Bums for happy hour, cocktails, food and also music. Tante's is also great for happy hour, but also the Hawaiian Ribs are awesome and on special everyday. Maalaea is so centrally located, it's easy to explore so many areas of Maui. If you'll have us, your place will be our go to place when we visit Maui!!! Mahalo

Absolutely perfect! Indeed a home away from home.

This was our first trip to Maui. Trying to weed through all the listings to find just the right spot is a challenge, but I tell you this condo is PERFECT! It is pretty much centrally located, the community is quiet and hospitable, and the condo is very well kept and has everything one would need to feel at home. There is conveniences within walking distance and nothing seemed to be too far away...even Hana. Although we just missed the whale season, we were entertained nightly by a group of sea turtles that had moved in. Ma'aelea Harbor is a 5 - 10 minute walk, convenient if you want to go out on a snorkel charter or sunset cruise. Ziplining is an adventure that one should experience at least once and we did the Skyline/Eco Adventures in Haleakala. If you're looking for a dinner out and a sunset, dining in Lahaina or at the Whaler's Village in Kaanapali is lovely. And although you are there to see the sites of the island, nothing beats the down time. Kicking back on the lanai, listening to the waves, and watching the sunrise or set is just awesome. Ken and Lori are very helpful and accommodating. We really appreciate them opening up their second home for our well overdue vacation. Thank you. :-)

Not what it says it is.

The condo is full of piles of wrapped product that say “owner property”, not just a couple, but 6 of them taking up space. This is the first poor review I’ve ever left. I’ve owned two VRBO properties. Maybe I’m a bit of a snob, but this place really needs some upkeep and care. The condo had so many weird things going on. The stacking washer/dryer blows the lint right back into your face when you turn it on, and all over the condo. It has a nylon stocking over the vent, doesn’t even leave the apartment. The kitchen is meagerly stocked and not well cleaned. No coffee pot?!?! A Keurig, but doesn’t state that in the description. I’ve NEVER stayed somewhere that didn’t have a regular coffee pot. Not much ventilation. The bedding, and especially the towels are old and need to be replaced. There is no access to the beach. You can’t even see the water due to large shrubs along the water. The pool doesn’t open until 10am. This condo just needs some TLC and to be cleaned properly. I would post pictures, but it does not leave me any place to post them. I would not suggest a stay here.

Whale Watching

Was able to find this listing for a last minute quick trip to Maui to celebrate my birthday and see the whales. Great location as able to see few whales right from the balcony and take trips from the nearby harbor and Kihei. Great to see another part of the island. This is not a noisy resort or a busy tourist spot. We are in close proximity to those areas, but there is nothing like coming back to our condo in the peaceful Maalaea community. Within walking distance is the Maalaea Harbor Shops featuring the Aquarium, restaurants and great boat excursions. Our central location puts you within 20 minutes of the airport, Lahaina, Kihea, or Wailea and within 45 minutes of Kapalua, Paia, and Upcountry.

What makes this property unique

Guests tell us that our oceanfront lanai is their favorite place to spend their time. The ever-changing landscape of sunrise, breaching whales (in season), frolicking turtles and tour boats makes it easy to love Maalaea. Dining oceanfront is also a key benefit of our condo as our bbq area provides tables to dine under the stars. Because we visit the condo often, it is well equipped with appliances, tools and gadgets to make your stay enjoyable. Our condo is not like the typical rental condo you might find elsewhere, with 2 plates, a bent fork and a dull knife....chances are our kitchen is equipped like yours at home. You didn't come to Maui on vacation to cook, but if you want to, we have it all!
