Nice location

Nice an comfortable condo, easy access, nice pool and clise to Keystone lake. Only downside was that someone stole our mountain bikes that wetelock in our bike rack. Probably find some indoor storage for that as zi was shocked to have the locks cut like that. Must be something that happens now and than in this area.

Weekend at Decatur

Property was clean and spacious.Not exactly as the pictures portray the unit.Still a bit outdated. Our biggest problem was that we didn’t have any heat. Temperatures being in the teens outside , it was not very comfortable taking showers.Called the management several times and the only thing they were able to do is provide two small-mini heaters.

Location was great for getting to and from the mountain on the free shuttle. Baseboard heater did not warm very well, but the two space heaters provided helped quite a bit. Nice appliances and furniture, and adequate storage for one person. Floor to ceiling windows offered a lovely view. Some light traffic noise from the road, but not enough to be disturbing. Unfortunately, I did not find the wood for the fireplace (in the garage) until the day of my departure. I reported a couple of maintenance issues and they were quickly resolved. Overall very nice stay, quiet building, great customer service. Would recommend.

The ski locker was a nice feature for a longer stay though we didn’t need it. The bed was far too soft for us but some may like it. Only real negative was the bathroom was not clean; lots of hair on the floor, some in tub, and on counter. Some on floor kind of looked like dog hair though pets aren’t allowed so not sure. The rest of the place was clean and well kept. There is a bus stop right outside which makes accessing lifts easy.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property was very cozy, had a nice kitchen and a lovely view, unfortunately the property management company did not address an issue during our stay. When we came back to the unit after a day out we discovered our door was open, not just slightly cracked but clearly open. We immediately called the company after we verified nothing was stolen to ask what had happened. The person on the phone said they would check with housekeeping and maintenance to see if anyone stopped by and give us a call back, but they never did. The next day I called the company again and spoke to another person who said they would talk with their manager about the issue and give me a call back, but they never did. On the final day I called the company and spoke to a different person who doubted my claim about the door being closed when we left (my wife and I checked and ensured the door was closed and we always do this whenever we lock a door). They said no one from the company visited the unit. This was more concerning as it either meant the lock was not working or could be broken into easily, or the company keeps a poor record of who goes into a unit. They said they could check the lock access records to see if someone from their company did enter the unit and give me a call back, but they never did. While this was a very nice property, the poor security and customer service by Summit County Mountain Retreats means I would not recommend staying at their managed properties.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is a very cozy one room condo, its wuite spacious and well thought out layout made it seem much larger. The wood stove in the middle is amazing and provided with wood and fore starter, makes the whole room warm up and light up. We wrre very pleased to see it eas just as described. Its difficult getting luggage and dki gear to and from the car. As the from door locks and there's no ramp to take out the luggage rack to the car. Checking out was especially difficult as we wrre asked to leave the key cards in the room. If you had a drp bix for keys it would hei, as your constantly worried about getting locked out.

VACATION RENTALS VS. HOTELS
Booking a vacation rental is like staying at the house of a friend. In this vacation rental you will experience significantly more space, privacy, or comforts that feel like home, including a kitchen and a location that is beyond what most hotels can offer. All this at a significantly lower cost than a hotel with comparable features. These benefits bring different considerations than a hotel. More privacy means that most guests do not want daily housekeeping. We offer a check-out clean and, for an added fee, mid-stay cleans. We also offer a starter supply of some consumables, including coffee, paper towels, toilet paper and more, but these items are not restocked during a stay. A kitchen allows you to make home-cooked meals. Guests will likely visit the store to purchase groceries. Self-sufficiency is key to a happy stay in a vacation rental. We do provide housekeeping and 24/7 maintenance, but this is primarily for properties in between stays. Our staff services vacation rentals across several square miles, unlike a hotel that manages a single building. We have to strike a balance between cost and service, and have found that our current system has struck this balance. Our hope is that our guests understand the difference between booking a hotel and a vacation rental. Together we can provide affordable vacation rentals and happy stays for everyone!
