About this property
Rockaway Beach Train Depot
Your group will feel right at home in this home one block from the beach which is the old Rockaway Beach Train Depot that has been remodeled into a home. Come be a part of our charming town's history as you enjoy all that the north coast has to offer from your well-equipped cottage.
On the main floor there is a bedroom with king bed, a bedroom with a queen bed and a kids room with 2 sets of bunkbeds. In the loft (no privacy door) there is a queen bed.
We are walking distance to all of the shops and restaurants available in Rockaway Beach and the Oregon Coast Scenic Railway runs beside the home as well for any train enthusiasts.
After purchasing this duplex in 2021 we have been lovingly updating it as funds and time allows. One half is our home and the other unit we have opened up to welcome guests who also love exploring the Oregon Coast and all it has to offer. We love the living in a piece of Rockaway history and have enjoyed learning more about our home from longtime Rockaway Beach residents.
The central location will allow you to explore the gorgeous Oregon Coastline to the north and south and return to a cozy home in the evening. We are happy to provide recommendations for beaches, hikes, restaurants and shopping.
Please reach out to us if you have any questions you'd like answered before booking the property.

About the host
Hosted by Justin & Erin McMahan

Erin and I are originally from Portland Oregon where we lived for most of our lives. We have been married for 28 years and have 5 children. In 2020 we decided to move to the Oregon Coast for various opportunities we had for work and the lifestyle change. In 2021 we had the opportunity to buy the train depot and jumped at the chance as we wanted to live near the beach and have managed vacation rentals before.
Why they chose this property
As children all the way until adulthood Erin and I spent many vacations and weekends at the coast. We specifically love the northern coast and even when we were younger wanted a house in this area.
What makes this property unique
Our property is unique because it is over 100 years old and used to be the original train depot for the city of Rockaway Beach. If you look through our photos and the historical book in the house you will see what it looked like when it was in operation. It has been through man changes over the years but you can still recognize the depot in the old photos.
