About this property
Tacoma's Theater District Charming Studio with Deck! Third floor condo.
Lodge in a historic antique and art-filled modern studio located in the heart of the revitalized Tacoma Theater District. If this property sounds familiar you may have seen our other property featuring two beautiful 'hip and trendy' condos (VRBO listings 96674 & 1034368) in the same unique building.
The Rowland Building is a completely renovated historic property that features two upscale condos and this charming studio tastefully furnished with original artwork and antiques. The building also includes a friendly bar and grill. Guests are welcomed to their stay in in this cozy studio with a complimentary bottle of wine, coffee, and chocolates.
*Please keep in mind we do require all guests to have stayed with another VRBO host and have 1 review minimum prior to booking with us.
Experience Urban living at its finest and live within walking distance to great eateries; the Theaters; the International Glass Museum; the Washington State History Museum; the Tacoma Art Museum; the YMCA; The University of Washington Tacoma campus; and Antique Row.
Visit the Thursday Farmers' Market (two blocks away May-October) and buy fresh produce, arts, and crafts; and dine at one of the many nearby popular restaurants, pubs, and breweries (within one block of the studio).
This area is an ideal base from which to explore the nearby Puget Sound (located three blocks from the Thea Foss Waterway). Adventure enthusiasts can travel by car or ferry to cosmopolitan Seattle, bucolic and romantic Vashon Island, and beautiful Victoria, Canada.
Outdoor lovers can visit nearby parks, and marinas. Recreational opportunities abound with skiing and hiking at nearby Crystal Mt., Snoqualmie, and Mt. Baker (about an hour away). Nature devotees can visit the Olympic National Rain Forest and Mt. St. Helens, where the thirty-year anniversary of its historic eruption was recently honored.
Use this charming studio as your home base while visiting the wondrous Puget Sound region and the vibrant downtown Tacoma Theater district

About the host
Hosted by Travis Scheff
My name is Travis and I am a local business owner who lives onsite in this beautiful 100-year-old historic building.
Laura Hanan and family completely renovated this mixed-use building and built two beautiful identical high-end condos featuring custom cherry wood cabinetry, original brick walls, and refinished 100-year-old Doug Fir wood floors and artwork throughout.

Why they chose this property
We found this beautiful old building - a dusty gem - in the heart of downtown Tacoma, the Theater District. We saw the raw potential of the area and since purchasing and remodeling our building we are in the center of a lovely new restaurant, pub, and brewery row, including a lively bar and grill 'The Office' downstairs in the building. We are proud that our building is also on the local register of historic buildings.
A new Pacific Northwest heavy-hitter anchor tenant, McMenamins is being built less than two blocks away from our building and will feature a music venue, theatrical events, and a brew pub in the grand old historic Elks Building.

What makes this property unique
We love to pamper our guests with condos that are furnished tastefully and include all original artwork. A complimentary bottle of wine, pound of fresh coffee, and chocolates await our visitors. We live on site available to help out with restaurant suggestions and information about the wonderful local events and places to visit in beautiful Washington state.
