Welcome to Butterfly Creek Cottage! A peaceful creekside getaway at Blueberry Falls Farm in Mentone, Alabama, where rustic charm meets modern comfort. Soak in the private hot tub overlooking Bent Creek, unwind on the wrap-around porch with hanging chairs, or relax by the fire pit under the stars. This charming tiny home is the perfect blend of nature, relaxation, and comfort.
➤ Bedroom 1 (Main Floor/Master)
Features a queen bed with linens provided, including a sheet set, quilt, pillows, and extra blanket. A dresser and closet with hangers offer storage, while sliding glass doors open directly to the covered back porch and hot tub for easy access and serene creek views.
➤ Bedroom 2 (Loft)
The loft overlooks the creek and includes two twin beds with linens, quilts, and pillows provided. It’s a cozy hideaway, perfect for kids, with a small sitting area featuring two floor chairs and a butterfly table. Note that this is not a walkable space.
➤ Bathroom
A full bath with a tub/shower combo, towels (one per guest), washcloths, and two rolls of toilet paper provided. Essentials include shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hand soap for your convenience.
➤ Living/Kitchen/Dining Area
This inviting space is perfect for gathering, dining, and relaxing. The kitchen includes an electric stove and oven, microwave, Keurig and drip coffee makers, pots, pans, baking sheets, drinking glasses, dinnerware, and silverware. Olive oil, salt, and pepper are provided, along with a coffee starter kit (a few K-Cups, two packs of grounds, filters, creamer, and sugar) to get you through your first day.
The round dining table seats four and doubles as a laptop-friendly workspace. In the living area, enjoy a Smart TV, Wi-Fi, and board games for cozy nights in.

Relax on the covered back porch with a hot tub and creek views, or unwind around the propane fire pit on the deck. The cabin’s wrap-around porch and bridge entry add to its rustic charm, while the gravel patio by the creek features a wood-burning fire pit with rocking chairs—a fantastic evening hangout. Solar chandeliers add a magical glow, and a propane grill with utensils is available for outdoor cooking.

The Butterfly Creek Cottage sits on six scenic acres at Blueberry Falls Farm, featuring a u-pick blueberry farm, small waterfall, and peaceful pond. Located on Lookout Mountain near Mentone, Alabama, it’s a beautiful and safe retreat surrounded by nature, with four state parks within a 30-minute drive. The cottage is one of three tiny homes in our village—each with private amenities but shared access to the farm’s common spaces. Guests can enjoy seasonal blueberry picking (mid-June–mid-August) and the annual Blueberry Festival in July. Nearby attractions include DeSoto Falls, DeSoto State Park, and Little River Canyon National Preserve, along with Mentone’s charming shops, dining, and art. Groceries and essentials are available in Fort Payne (Walmart, Food City, Bruce’s Foodland), while Mentone Market offers local favorites, pizza, and grab-and-go items.

Parking is available in the gravel driveway, which fits two small cars or one large vehicle. Additional parking is located at the front of the property for extra cars, RVs, trailers, or larger vehicles if needed.

Your cottage is nestled within the gated Blueberry Falls Farm, a family-owned property that hosts u-pick blueberry seasons, pop-up markets with live music and food, and offers a collection of unique vacation rentals. Inside the cottage, you’ll also find a copy of the local newspaper, The Groundhog, which includes a calendar of events happening around the area.
Plan one of your visits around the Rhododendron Festival in spring or the Colorfest in fall—two of Mentone’s most beloved events featuring live music, over 60 artists, and delicious food vendors. It’s the perfect way to experience the true heart and community spirit of Mentone, Alabama.

Most cars can easily access the home and nearby areas. There is no public transportation, so bringing your own vehicle or renting one is preferred. While Uber and Lyft are available, getting a ride may not always be easy.
➤ Two other tiny homes share the property, each designed for privacy, and the entire farm or all three homes can be rented together upon request.
➤ PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THIS IS AN ACTIVE FARM. The owner lives and works on the property. Our farm dog, Maggie, is extremely friendly but may bark at cars and guests initially and then she wants to be your and your dog`s best friend. She will not harm you in any way, and if her presence ever becomes an issue, the owner is happy to keep her inside.
➤ Blueberry Season is from mid-June to late August. During this time, the blueberry bushes are open to the public for our U-pick season. The cottages are separate from the bushes, but please be aware of this if you are coming during blueberry season.
➤ During the Spring, Summer, and Fall, landscaping takes place on Thursday mornings and afternoons. This includes mowing, weed eating, and blowing around the houses.
➤ Starter kitchen and bathroom essentials are provided, but guests will need to supply disposables and restock items for the duration of their stay.
➤ Pets allowed (NO pets in the loft areas please) with $50 fee per stay. Max 2 dogs under 60 lbs (pre-approval for larger). No cats or aggressive breeds. Keep pets off furniture, clean up after them, and crate if left alone.
➤ Exceeding maximum occupancy is not permitted.
➤ No third-party bookings (must book under your own account).
➤ No parties, events, smoking, vaping, marijuana use, or open flames (candles, incense, sage).
➤ Quiet hours begin at 10:00 pm.
