Very nice property. Very convenient to Acadia and Bar Harbor!
This house was very nice. It is secluded with woods surrounding and was quiet. Getting to and from both Acadia and Bar Harbor was very easy and took maybe 15 minutes. Would definitely stay here again!
It was a great place to relax at the end of a long day. Highly recommend!

Liked: Check-in, location
Disliked: Listing accuracy
Acadian Woods Retreat is located within 10-15 min of downtown Bar Harbor and is set a short distance from a quiet 2-way, 2-lane road. The woodland surrounding is serene and has ample parking for 3 large vehicles without blocking the driveway path. At night, motion-sensitive floodlights brighten the 1-lane driveway, the parking area, & entrance. The rustic house is a work in progress: The large master bedroom on the 2nd floor has a queen bed and is the most comfortable of the 4 bedrooms, with its own full bath - oversized tub, narrow shower, toilet & sink at children’s height. All of the beds have lovely quilts, but the linens on some beds were worn thin. The large capacity washer & dryer in the basement were very helpful in bringing the freshness of the blankets, bed & bath linens to our standards. There are separate AC units on each floor that work properly and are assisted by floor fans. We encountered 2 problems during our 10-day stay at Acadian Woods: 1) In the Vrbo listing, it is stated that no pets and no smoking is permitted. These policies were the deciding factors for my choosing Acadian Woods over several other properties. Upon arrival, I discovered a dog bed in the living room,
We enjoyed our stay at this house. Check in/out was smooth and the host agreed to a late check out which helped us since we had watched the fireworks the night before. Location was also great - outside of town and away from the Bar Harbor craziness, but also close to Abel's Lobster which we went to twice. 10 mins from Acadia. We really liked the outdoor space and ate breakfast on the deck every morning. There was no propane in the tank when we arrived so they told us where to find the spare and they also brought a new tank. Overall I found the host very responsive.Everything was generally clean but a lot of it was old - old sofas/sofa covers, bedding, pillows, comforters, etc - so it did feel worn. There is only central heat, and it has separate AC units which are very loud. Didn't bother me but it bothered my husband. The downstairs (with 2 bedrooms) is much colder than the rest of the house, and we couldn't ever figure out how to get it warmer. Again, didn't bother me that much but it bothered my 87 year old mother. Just make sure to take into account who will be in which room and you'll really have a great time.
