5 star cabin if you’re looking for a nice getaway and something relatively cheap. They provide cooking supplies, snacks, board games, and hot tub, and more. You won’t be disappointed.

This property is excellent for a secluded getaway that is still close to major attractions. The private river access is great and the host stocked the cabin as well as any property we've stayed at.

We loved staying here and the hosts literally thought of everything- s’mores supplies, breakfast foods, stocked up on bottled water. Really wonderful! I didn’t realize how far the river is from the cabin, but it wasn’t a big deal or too long of a walk. The Woodstock area has a lot to do and we will be back!

We had a great time. Stayed 4 nights. Host Matthew is outstanding. Nice clean little house on the river. Nice back deck. Hot tub is clean and relaxing. Lots of accommodations a person could need for a relaxing stay. Short walk to the river. Caught a bunch of fish. Bass, fall fish, blue gills and pumpkin seeds. Nice fire pit by the house and on the river bank too. . We didn't want to leave. We drove to Staunton for a train excursion. Went to Luray caverns. Definitely would stay again.

Wonderful river getaway!

This property was charming, filled with thoughtful touches and comfort items. It's was quiet, off the beaten path, we could hear the river that was a very short stroll away. Loved the hot tub!

Quick family hiking / fishing trip

Cute cabin with lots of character and amenities - spices, condiments, games, books, and movies. We only stayed a few days but it was very comfortable for our family of four (teenage kids). We hiked at Seven Bends and fished the river by wading below the rapids and using our newly learned fly fishing skills from the Murray Fly Fishing shop in Edinburg. A very nice getaway!
Relaxing down at the river.
Successful morning fishing!

Awesome place on the Shenandoah!

A great cabin and riverfront place - the cabin is rich with amenities and perks - snacks, food, good cutlery, linens, robes(!) etc - super clean and user friendly - and what a lovely spot! If you are fishing, we probably caught 60 fish each over 2 days - and access is right there and super easy. Will definitely be back!

Christmas at the Rivah Retreat

We can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our time at The Rivah Retreat. The location is perfect for a quiet time away from it all. The cabin is so cozy and homey. The hot tub and fireplace and fire pit are just great! The amenities are first class. We'll be back! Our Christmas was just the best!

The coziest!

This cabin has everything you could want for a cozy, peaceful getaway. The river and view are beautiful, the beds are so comfy, the hot tub and firepit are both delightful and the little touches that make the place comfy and welcoming are never ending. It feels super remote and peaceful but is also just a quick drive off the highway. I cant say enough good things.

The cabin is quirky, but comfortable and well provisioned. The hot tub and fire pit are nice touches. The paths from the parking area to the cabinet from the cabin to the river are easily usable. The river itself while pretty and making a lovely sound, is very unevenly rocky, and consequently not readily accessible for in-water fishing and wading purposes. Because the cabin is multilevel, there are steps between different portions of the cabin. Glow tape on steps would be a good safety enhancement. On the deck, there are two steps of very uneven height that can be treacherous. Because the cabin does not have clothes closets or a washer and dryer, it may be more suitable for short stays than longer stays. Between the river and the woods, the setting is very beautiful and isolated (in a good way). The hosts were very responsive to our questions. Communications were good.

Beautiful Stay with amazing special touches

We had such a great time at the Rivah Retreat and are so grateful for communicative owners and such a welcoming stay . The cottage and grounds were beautiful and tucked away into a gorgeous true retreat outside Woodstock . The home was immaculately clean , the beds were comfortable , and the house was packed with so many little special extras and amenities not even included in the listing that made us feel so taken care of ! The hot tub was perfect, we enjoyed breakfast on the lovely patio, used the well -stocked kitchen , and saw the sights around Woodstock, which included an awesome hike right in town and a picturesque evening at the vineyards. It was a perfect stop during a few days exploring Shenandoah! Thank you again!
