Perfect cozy cabin for staying with the kids and dog over the holiday and for getting some cold weather fishing in as well!! We planned a retreat style get away to do jigsaw puzzles and leisurely cast hooks—my kids’ favorite activities while we went nearby for Thanksgiving dinner. We loved hiking to Burgess Falls so conveniently and had the best time visiting local diners for easy meals. Loved that this property can accommodate a fisherman so well! And definitely plan to request a stay again soon! Betty Island and Caney Fork dam so close by were great too—don’t hesitate to book if you love to fish!
The place was nice and had everything we needed. The host was super nice and always responded promptly. The extra instructions for all of the small things was helpful as well. Very peaceful and CLEAN. We will return SOON!
This was our second year in this cabin and had another amazing time and made many memories! Again the property is everything it says it is and well equipped with everything u need . We love it here and hope to be able to come back many years to come . And the host are on top of whatever u need in a very timely manner .
This cabin is everything it says it is! It is very cozy and clean and the surrounding area is just shy of amazing, perfect for a fisherman! Would definitely booking this cabin again anytime!!
This place was AMAZING! Better than expected, nothing fancy but everything we needed. We had the lake to ourselves, my son and grandkids visited and loved the water utilizing the paddle boats and kayak. The large deck has lighting, fire pit, BBQ and plenty of seating. My husband spent hours fishing off the deck & in the paddleboat. It’s private, serene, & cozy. We will definitely stay here again. The hosts responded promptly to any questions. The only glitch was the dryer didn’t get hot to dry our clothes & we had to pack damp clothes. But for the week we stayed here that is no big deal in our overall wonderful stay.

Best weekend getaway for family or fishing or both
This property is everything it says it is then some and very clean . The property owner was very easy to reach and reply’s quickly. The private lake is amazing also very established for fishing its a true fisherman's getaway ! We caught several catfish and some bluegill and bass and a at least 40lb grass carp . Truly amazing spot will be back soon !
We enjoyed everything about our stay! It was so nice to just unplug and enjoy quality time with my husband and daughter! This cabin has everything you need plus picture perfect views and a nice secluded feel while only being a few short minutes from town. It’s also about a mile from Burgess Falls, we did a little hike there on day 2! Couldn’t recommend this spot more! I’ve already sent booking info to 3 friends who asked where we stayed after seeing our pics!
We had so much fun staying at this property. Our host was wonderful! There was excellent communication and attention when we needed things. The kayaks were so fun! And fishing off the front porch was wonderful. 😊 We didn’t catch anything but my 4 year old had lots of fun talking to the smaller fish that we could see right off the front porch.
The only thing to note would be remember your sunscreen and bug spray. Also, a coffee pot would be great to add.
Exceeded my expectations. More than enough room for two people. Equipped with everything you need (except dryer) and then some. Being right on top of the water facing the lake was the best part for me. Cabin has a huge porch with firepit, grills, outdoor ceiling fans and lights all around, carport right off porch and your privacy Very cozy and roomy. Plenty of kitchenware, towels, life jackets (all sizes.) and kayaks. Owner and Host's communication and friendliness was the best. We booked for a week stay. We didn't catch many fish and the ones we did were small, but we did catch some rays and a good time and would love to stay again. The cabin is off the beaten path, minutes from Burgess Falls and Cookeville. If you want to stay around crowds, noise, traffic and streetlight's this is not the place for you. The frogs and birds the loudest thing here, and the lighting is up to you. A great stay at a great price.
We really enjoyed our stay here. Loved the back deck which is on a huge pond. You can fish off of the back of the deck while grilling or just hanging out. It is less than a ten minute drive to the kayak and boat launch. The launch is a large sloped gravel lot. We only launched kayaks, but if you are putting a boat in you might need 4-wheel drive if conditions are wet. The only thing I would change would be the bed. It is two twin beds pushed together with different sized mattresses, so there is a gap and a bump in the middle. It would be much more comfortable with just a queen frame and bed. Other than that is was great. We are planning to visit again. If you are visiting Burgess Falls via kayak, you should know that there is a part where you will need to get out and either pull your kayak over land, or walk your kayak thru the small rapids. Then you will reach another part where you will need to beach your kayak and walk along the rocky bank for awhile to reach the falls. It is worth it, but keep in mind in case you have children or people who might not be able to make the trek.
