We really liked this place. Some aspects may be a bit outdated, but very comfortable and clean with room to spread out. Plenty of supplies—everything you might need. Tons of outdoor toys/chairs/water gear and it was all in good condition. We liked the location for exploring Door County and loved being right on the water. Communication with host was easy. Would definitely recommend!
We could see water on both sides from the property. Great for dog walks around the neighborhood. Had all the kitchen tools we needed. Very responsive hosts!
We had the best time as a family on this property. The house is right on the lake and exactly as described. Close enough to Door County tourist spots yet far away from the crowds to enjoy the peace and serenity.
The property was very clean and was a nice mix of new and old. We were very happy with all of the water items included along with a bunch of yard games and board games! The neighborhood is quaint and quiet and located not too far from Sturgeon Bay. The lake view was absolutely gorgeous and it was an added bonus that pets are allowed since my lab loves the water! We would definitely stay here again!
Great house to stay in when visiting Door Co. Owner was very responsive to any questions . House was clean, had everything and then some and in a very quiet location
Nice house with lots of space inside and out for the kids to let out energy. Has everything at the house you could need. Close to town and the neighborhood was quiet and easy to get around. Dan was friendly and made sure we had a great stay
Overall good. The two kings were more in the same room than two different ones. Not usually big issue but with two little ones there it created some tougher sleeping arrangements

Propr Mngr Dan was spot on with info and access codes. Flawless performance. The property however, is past its prime. The shore photo taken from the water was not accurate, Two to three foot tall weeds covered the beach. Swimming area is almost totally covered with water vegetation. A/C, appliances and fans were good. Rooms were "clean" but we expected a bit better.
We had a great stay. The place was clean, and there were plenty of towels, sheets, and blankets. I even found coffee supplies. Dan quickly responded to all questions.
We loved the location. Make your morning coffee and watch the sun rise over the lake from your private bit of shoreline. It was a convenient drive to everywhere we wanted to go, but had an out in the woods feel.
I would have zero hesitations about returning.
Very nice property somewhat wheelchair accessible some doorways too narrow for motorized wheelchair as was bathroom on main floor. Otherwise very comfortable
Loved all the space, nice area outside right on the water. TV very limited unless you subscribe. Wish the water quality would have been better. Smelled bad and was discolored probably because of location on the water. Beautiful area for taking a walk and beautiful sunrises.
The quality of the indoor water was poor so we used bottled water for cooking and drinking. There is no beach, so we could not use the boats provided as 2 of us were 80+, one 60. three females and one male 30 year old. We were mother, sister, daughter and grandson. It was in a good location to get around the whole penninsula. The beds were very comfortable and we enjoyed the sunrises over the water.

Thanks for the feedback Shirley. Sorry you could not use the water crafts. Indeed the shoreline is rocky until you get out several yards to a nice sandy bottom. I can see where it would be a struggle for some. I am sorry you were not satisfied with that and will try to better word it on the VRBO page. The kitchen sink does have a filtered water system. I will double check the filter status. Thanks again for staying!
We enjoyed our stay at Cozy Cottage as a family of 6. It was spacious and the location was great. The side of the house facing the water is all windows and 20 feet from the water. You also get a lake view of the other bay from the front of the house including the sunset. The cottage is nicer than it looks in the photos. I appreciated that the cottage is clearly a beloved family home and I loved seeing the things they’ve collected over the years. The kitchen was also well equipped and easy to cook in. Sturgeon Bay is only 15 minutes away and has great coffee shops and antique/thrift stores. We will try to come back!
The property is very nice. It looks like a quaint family cottage with a newer large addition. Everything worked perfectly and the views are gorgeous. Lakeside is on Sand Bay, and a few hundred yards in front is Riley Bay. Water on two sides. Property is within 15 minutes of our two favorite boat ramps to fish the Sturgeon Bay Area. Beds and amenities all good and the property manager is very responsive. Great place for families or fisherman. Twenty steps out the door and your toes are in Sand Bay. We are definitely going back. Plenty of room for our whole family.
This property is just down the street from us. We were having a family reunion so I rented this house for overflow guests. Two adults and four children aged 4-10 stayed at this property and they could not have been more delighted. It is very kid friendly, very clean, and decorated in a charming cottage style. The kids LOVED the layout of the house, especially the upstairs with the two huge beds and couch and plenty of play area to enjoy the multitude of games and puzzles that were available. I don’t think the kitchen was used for much because the meals were all prepared and eaten at our house, but it looked like it had everything you could need or want to prepare meals. Check in and out was simple, the host manager was informative and good about communicating. My guests enjoyed their stay so much that they asked if we could do it again next year. My great nephew announced that he wanted to stay 75 more nights! If you have kids or if you don’t, it would be hard to find a better place to stay.

The property was nice and met our needs. It definitely was more of a cabin than a home. We had a 2 mo infant with us. We were changing her on bed and she piddled some before we got the next diaper to catch the rest. Some went through the sheet and onto the waterproof pad. We stripped the bed, the mattress was not wet. We put the wet linen into the wash pile. There is no washing machine. Two days after we left we get a note saying we were being billed for urine soaked mattress and mattress pad that took extra cleaning. The property manager Dan was rude even as we acknowledged the wet linen and pad, but the mattress was never wet. We had no way to clean the linens. He made several comments about “piss” being all over mattress and why would his cleaner lie. We don’t know why, but we were not the ones lying here. We’re decent people we wouldn’t leave a “soaked” mattress. We even went over and helped the neighbor get his lawn tractor get unstuck from the beach. There were things we would not have mentioned and let go but after the property manager was so rude we will share more. There must have been quite some time between renters or they have terrible cleaners. There were spider webs everywhere, in corners, bathrooms, along the ceilings and from the walls to the decorations and appliances. You can use the outdoor equipment but be sure to clean out the black water and dead frogs. I’m sure the property owner is a nice lady, but she needs a new property manager and cleaners.
Our family came here over Memorial Day weekend to fish and had a great time. We had our dog with us and he liked being by the water. The views are pretty, being right on the water. Neighborhood was nice for taking the dog on a walk. Not too far from town and the various boat launches.House was clean and had plenty of space. Good communication with the property manager.
I am a Door County native and started managing properties a few years ago. I quickly discovered that I really love it. Helping others with their getaways is something I truly enjoy. I understand how important vacation time is and strive to help others get the most out of their vacations.
Why they chose this property
Southern Door County is my favorite. It boasts wonderful shorelines and fantastic views, but without the sheer number of people that northern Door sees. You can always travel up the peninsula to explore all that Door County has to offer. However, if you prefer your own space, just relax in the peace and tranquility of Cozy Cove Cottage.
What makes this property unique
Experience a classic Door County waterfront cottage vibes with plenty of space both inside and out. The cottage features charming decor, including a cozy electric fireplace that adds to its inviting atmosphere during the cooler months. In summer sit by the water and let the world pass you by. Relax, unwind and recharge.
