Boyer Beach House SPECIAL Book 3 days, get 4th day FREE-book your Winter Escape!
Contact Becky! SPECIAL Book 3 days, get 4th day free-book your Winter Escape in MARCH OR APRIL!! During Peak Season Boyer Beach House books Saturday to Saturday, we have a 2 or 3-day minimum depending on off-peak season month.
PLEASE NOTE: VRBO has started using AI to update items such as amenities or attractions nearby without the Hosts approval. If you are interested in specific amenities please ask me (Becky) and I will confirm. The other day VRBO said I had a pool at our Boyer Log Cabin (I wish). We want our guests to have a great stay with no surprises or disappointments, so if you see a Pool listed anywhere, sorry, we don't have one - thanks!
We sleep 4 humans (no exceptions) and we allow you to bring ONE (1) dog for a fee.
Boyer Beach House is a Four Season Home (2 Bed - 2 bath), cedar-sided ranch with a great fireplace, full updated kitchen with dishwasher, 3.5 acres, 2-car attached garage, small dunes, and 190 feet of Lake Michigan shoreline. Free Spectrum Fiber Optics too!
The house is located on one of the most rustic roads in Door County, South Lake Michigan Drive. It is a 1.5-car wide lane (newly paved 2024) that meanders along the lake shore for a couple of miles, the speed limit along our stretch is 15 mph. Very, very low-traffic road, either someone really wants to drive down this road or they have a place here. It is not part of the tourist trail.
The house is 40 feet away from our expansive sand beach, (across the small rustic lane) the total sandy area is approximately 1 acre. The lake shore is super sandy and the lake bottom is hard sand, gradual depth, great for kids, and your (leashed) dog too!
Boyer Beach House is located towards the northern end of a sandy bay that totals just over a mile. At the north end is where you will find the Sturgeon Bay shipping canal, lighthouse, and the Door County Land Trust Preserve which has 400+ acres of forest, dunes, and walking trails.
Our lakefront is perfect for kayaks, windsurfing, swimming, sailing, SUPing, and boogie boarding. Very easy to launch any 'quiet' water activities.
To the rear of the house is about 2 acres of pines, birch, and cedars that you can explore. Beyond our land are hundreds of acres of privately owned, but undeveloped land. This area is teeming with wildlife. It is very common to see deer, porcupines, turkeys, or foxes walking in the area or right down the middle of South Lake Michigan Drive.
The house is an extremely well-built ranch, circa 1960. There are two generous-sized bedrooms and plenty of closet space. Bedroom #1 is 16x14, with huge closets, a dresser, and a Queen size bed. Bedroom #2 is 12x10, with a small dresser, huge closets, and two Twin beds. A full bathroom on the main level and a 2nd full bathroom located in the basement.
Our front room has a woodburning fireplace and the living room area with a view of Lake Michigan. We have a Smart TV and Spectrum Fiber Optics.
The full kitchen is updated and well-equipped to prepare any meals to be served in the separate dining area. We have a CHARCOAL grill for outside use.
The basement is unfinished but here you will find a pool table, the second full bathroom, and a full-sized washer and dryer.
We do allow you to bring your well-behaved dog for a $90 fee; please don't forget to include your furry family member when booking, thank you! We ask that you always leash your dog when walking outside. Please respect our neighbor's peace and quiet and do not leave your dog tied to a lead or sitting on the beach barking all day. Please do not bring your dog if they are going to just sit there and bark; that's no fun for your furry family member or our neighbors. Thank you.
The attached garage is available for you to use. Back in your fishing boat, keep your bikes dry and easily pack/unpack your car. We have (3) Kayaks and (1) Stand-Up Paddleboard (seasonal use of course) along with life jackets and paddles for you to use. We hope you don't expect the Four Seasons Hotel; we try our best and hope you enjoy your vacation! Blue Chair Capital offers a 5% discount off the rental amount to military members and veterans; please present your proper ID.
Door County, the "Cape Cod of the Midwest", receives about 2 million visitors every year. Our location is away from the "tourist trail" and makes a good home base to easily explore all of Door County by car.
We are 10 minutes from Sturgeon Bay shops, restaurants, and the town waterfront walkway. There are many boat launch facilities and many transient options within minutes. Also, we are in the middle of one of the best fisheries in the world. Salmon, small-mouth bass, walleye, perch, and even northern - there is always a fishing option within a few minutes by boat.
We have 2 other rentals, both located in Egg Harbor, Boyer Log Cabin - on 40 acres, sleeps 6 (VRBO#1214889), and Boyer Point Cottage - which sleeps 8 -gorgeous sunsets (VRBO#1866692) please visit us there as well!!

About Mike and Becky
When thinking about this write-up for VRBO we were surprised that our Door County story started almost 35 years ago. We first visited Door County to see about repairs for an outboard motor for an old Boston Whaler. (long story) During the brief visit, we were amazed by the harbor towns, coastlines, and rural open spaces. I remember saying “I thought this was only on the east coast”. Every Door County town has its own special charm and unique attractions and best of all, everything is so close that you can have a great Door County experience over a long weekend. However, there really is so much to do, without feeling rushed, we recommend at least a week stay every year for the next 30 years to fully appreciate Door County.
Our honeymoon was a 14-day trip around Lake Michigan on the same old Boston Whaler (motor repaired) our plan was to visit all the highly touted harbor towns on the Michigan side and then cross Lake Michigan, which I don’t recommend doing this in a 21-foot boat, spending the second half of our trip exploring Door County. That was only our second time in Door County, but our experience confirmed that Door County was a very special place; we found Door County exceptional. Numerous historic harbor towns in close proximity, 300 miles of varied shoreline of rock, bluff, and sand, thousands of acres of State and County Parks on Lake Michigan (and Green Bay), and an iconic rural landscape. After years of visiting Door County, we were lucky enough to find a small house in a unique location of Sturgeon Bay and have been renting Boyer Beach House to vacationers for over 10 years. We have found this experience to be very positive and fulfilling by being a small part of helping people enjoy Door County.

Why they chose this property
Boyer Beach House is located in Sturgeon Bay on Lake Michigan, the quiet side. The walks along our quiet sandy beach while viewing the lighthouse or sitting around our bonfire on the beach while watching the stars and boats come in after a long day of fishing is exceptional. Nothing beats it, please read our reviews by our guests and you will understand what a lovely spot we have to share with you.
What makes this property unique
Boyer Beach House is a year-around home, wonderful wood burning fireplace inside, 2 bed, 2 full baths. Minutes from Sturgeon Bay but located on 3.5 acres on Lake Michigan. The house is 40 feet away from our expansive sand beach, (across the small rustic lane) the total sandy area is approximately 1 acre. The lake shore is sugar sand and the lake bottom is hard sand, gradual depth, great for kids, and pets too! Come get away from it all.
