About the host
Your host
We grew up in Washington and have lived in Tacoma for the last 20 years. We love exploring the forests, mountains, and waters of the Puget Sound with our two young children.
Why they chose this property
We have been visiting and exploring Anderson Island for years, spending many summer days swimming and fishing at Ray Park on Lake Josephine. A few years ago when the house across the street from the park went up for sale, we made the purchase. Since then we have been making memories paddleboarding to the Lakeshore restaurant for sweetcream pancakes, swimming to the swimdock in the midday sun, and sitting on the porch at dusk listening to the silence of the island.
What makes this property unique
The moment you step onto the ferry in Steilacoom you have the relaxed feeling of being on vacation. The lack of traffic and noise on the island add to this experience. Then, once you arrive at the cottage you get to relax. Time slows down. You wake up and make a pot of pour-over coffee. For a beach day at the lake, you put on your flip flops and walk across the street. To take the kids to a park, you walk across the street. There is nothing that compares to the relaxation of spending time at the cottage.
