Beautiful place, lots and lots of stairs. Waterfront is on a little lagoon that is made by the embankment for the train rt of way. Trains pass by occasionally, I found the sound kind of peaceful, but if you think you will be disturbed, bring ear plugs. There is a gorgeous fire place as the center of the house, but guests are not able to utilize it. The fire space on the beach is small and viney, but we made do. Just don't expect to sit around a fire for a long time. All in all, a very good stay and we would return.
Great place for a family looking for relaxed retreat but still within greater Seattle area or looking to travel via west ferries! The place was clean, accurate and organized upon arrival and the host is communicative. Highly recommend bringing a car not too large since the driveway is quite narrow.
We are enchanted with this property. From the heated floors, to the quirky layout and the view - we wish we planned for more time! Would love to return and stay again!
Adults who slept over for a 2 day retreat were all able-bodied and able to navigate the steps indoor and outdoor. Two people joined us for the day who had knee issues and once they got into the house, they were fine.
we loved this mid-century, fantasy-level retreat. Three stories, with a spa, ginormous shower, a perfect getaway for a large family or group. Big spacious rooms to share, and a sizable kitchen. Several floors offer brilliant views of both the lake and the Puget Sound & Whidbey Island: breathtaking! Everyone in our group agreed: We would all most definitely stay here again.

The location and view were absolutely beautiful, and we really appreciated the unique and creative layout of the space, it added a lot of character to our stay. While the design may not be the most practical for older guests, it certainly made for a memorable experience. We did have some concerns with cleanliness, particularly with the sheets, and were surprised by the absence of mattress pads on the beds. With a bit more attention to these details, this place could be truly exceptional.
My family of 10 stayed in this house. Everything about this house was fun to explore. The kids loved all the stairs and little nooks. The view was beautiful! We watched a bald eagle chase a duck (the duck escaped). The communication with the host was great. We enjoyed our stay.
Unique home with beautiful view. The house and entrance ways were not very clean. Spider web can be seen all over the house. Old leaves and cobwebs were outside the entrance ways. Lights in the kitchen were out. With the cleaning and host fees charged, We were expecting a cleaner place and functional lighting
This is an incredibly charming home in the woods with tons of character. It felt like a tree house! There are five floors and it almost took us some time to remember where all the rooms were. There was plenty of space for us to all spread out and have our own little nooks and crannies. It is peaceful and serene and the host was lovely as well. Note that there are lots of spiders because it’s in the trees, and some of the beds were a little less than comfortable. Parking is also a big puzzle to figure out if you have several cars showing up as only 3 can fit out front but we made it work. We would highly recommend this for an eclectic group like ours that appreciated a spot with tons of character and beautiful sweeping views of the sunset over puget sound!
Check- in was a breeze! We were even allowed to show up just a bit early, and that really saved our day. While we didn’t take full advantage of that wonderful kitchen, everything we needed was there when we needed it! Our only real issue was that 2 of the showers were only pumping cold water. The 2 that were working was plenty for us though, and that sauna shower was amazing! Like standing under a waterfall. Lots of stairs, so bring comfortable shoes. The trains weren't an issue at all. I will definitely try to book this home again! It's in the woods, so spiders are to be expected, but there were a lot of cobwebs around the edges.
The property has a great view of the sound! It’s a little rustic, but has a full kitchen and a laundry room. The host was responsive, and helpful. There are a lot of stairs, both inside the home and outside. We knew that before we got there, so we didn’t mind. I have two suggestions. First, bring some family fun games, as there is no TV (which was fine with us). The other suggestion has to deal with visiting Edmonds. Some good public parking is at 4th and Main, and Leftcraft is a nice family friendly pub!
We had a lovely stay in this treehouse home. Unique and interesting with a beautiful kitchen. My knees were objecting by the end of our 4 days stay but it was well worth it. Views were magnificent. Trains came by regularly but we were up above a majority of the noise so enjoyed the rumble and watched and guessed if it was a passenger or freight train. It is a single lane road coming in to the property with some traffic to watch for. Sauna was terrific.
We all loved the location and view from the house! Luckily I caught that the double beds were quite small to hold 2 adults in the photos and contacted Anne. I’m glad I did! She provided a queen air mattress which we used. The double beds may be able to hold 2 small children, but would be too small for 2 adults. There were a quite a few spiders and nails in the floor so watch out!
This listing does not do the property justice, this was such a cool stay! Very private and felt secluded. Felt like an MC Esher house with multiple twisty stair cases and hidden nooks and crannies everywhere. Amazing view of the sound! Soaking tub and one of the shower heads was not working during our stay which was a bummer but I'm sure the host will fix it soon. The very top bedroom (loft?) wasn't as sound insulated as the rest of the property so you could hear the train, but the rest of the house was great and you couldn't hear the train. Short walk to the ocean and a nice patio to chill on.

Yes and no
There were supposed to be five beds. Two were futons and both were broken. Four showers with running water, but only two had hot water. A soaking tub was listed, but it didn't have running water. Kitchen sink was not right. Coffee maker was not working correctly. Front door was sketchy. The fire pit was some firewood layed on the ground

Treehouse serenity with water views
We enjoyed the quietude and privacy of trees and birds, with interesting / unusual interior offering Salish Sea views and water access. The kitchen was equipped for us to prepare a birthday dinner and dessert, celebrated in the dining / main room with water views. The home is very near Picnic Point Park, an easy walk, to get to the Sound access. The spiral staircase was the best way to move between floors, when that bedroom was not occupied. Loved the heated concrete floor on the main floor!
We had issues gaining entry and with other aspects of our stay in the home. Anne was responsive, calling about unlocking the door. She also responded via VRBO portal messaging. The home could use better pictures of the interiors and the beautiful views.
Great home for large groups. No elderly or children under 5.
1. Show and mention all the stairs that are in the house. One of the kids fell down one flight. We had to follow them everywhere. 2. Put a street sign showing the way to the front door. 3. Front stairs were slippery and mossy. We had to use the back stairs. That's why we needed them repaired that day. 4. Hobbit door in front is for show only.
5. Bedrooms need something to hang clothes on, maybe hooks. We had wedding clothes with us and no place to hang them.(flower room and another bedroom) 6. An iron would have been nice and a Bissell that works. Plenty of supplies and kitchen items. 7. The throw rug in living area rolls up on the edge, we tripped over that many times. Other than these things, we had an enjoyable time. The kids loved the trains and the ducks.
