Welcome to this fabulous mountain lodge located in Deep Gap NC in the resort community of Powder Horn Mountain. Enjoy the birds chirping in the morning on the vast deck with your morning cup-a-joe! Walk out your front door to any number of hiking trails or grab a fishing pole and go cast a line in Penny Lake just around the corner! Enjoy the peace and serenity of this home nestled in the woods but still close to Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, Lenoir, and Wilkesboro.

The House
Moondust Lodge is named for the stunning sky view you have in the evenings. With so little light pollution, we are gifted with every night being full of stars it feels like you are in a planetarium! The house has 3 levels and a pull through driveway. There is only one step to get from the parking area to the front door walkway and the main level of the house. The main level consists of one full bathroom and one full bedroom with a Queen bed as well as the kitchen, living room, and dining room. You have a wall of windows to enjoy the bountiful nature around you! There is a flat screen TV and a propane fireplace for added ambiance! Also on the main level is the wrap around deck and propane grill. The upper level is an enclosed bedroom with a queen bed and another full bathroom. The basement is the perfect place for family game night with another flat screen tv, puzzle/game table, comfy seating and a sleeping area with a queen bed and a twin over twin trundle for the kiddos. The basement also has a full bath and access to another full wrap around deck.

The Neighborhood
Located in the gated community ( You get a gate code after you book) of Powder Horn Mountain. Renters have access to the outdoor community pool during the summer months as well as hiking trails, clubhouse, fitness center, tennis, campground, fishing, paddle boating, and more. The house is a great getaway, located just a few hours from Charlotte, Greensboro, Winston Salem, and Raleigh.

The Location
We are about 20 mins to Appalachian State and main street in Boone but only about 13 miles. We are about 18 -25 miles to all the ski resorts (App Ski, Sugar, Beech Mtn) or about 35-50 mins. Blowing Rock and Banner Elk are each about 35-40 mins from our front gate. The Blue Ridge Parkway is about 7 miles away with an access point at the top of Elk Creek Rd on old 421. The closest grocery store is Food Lion located at the intersection of 421 and Old 421 across from Tractor Supply. There is RV camping and horseback riding near by at Leatherwood Mountain Resort. Elk Creek is just outside the front gate of Powder Horn and is a state stocked trout stream this is an anglers paradise make sure you get your fishing license but you will find it is some of the best fishing around! Local wineries and breweries abound including Appalachian Mountain Brewery, Booneshine Brewing, Grandfather Vineyards, Banner Elk Winery and so many others. So much to do!!!! Make sure to also check out the Lil' Hidden Creek Gem mine located about 1 mile past the back gate of Powder Horn.
