Gîte bleue

A little house with approximately 18 m2 inner space. The bed of 140 cm width can only be entered from the foot side and is separated from the rest of the room by a curtain. There is no possibility to store accessoires next to the bed like a book, mobile phone or others. Ventilation is nearly impossible because only one of the 3 windows can be opened up to 10 cm. Main door height about 180 cm. Sink in the bathroom is fixed too low. Entrance of shower cabin too narrow. Big people risk to hit their head against the top. Chairs at the dining table and the armchairs are very uncomfortable. No couch. Ridiculous dishwasher.Rolling gravel on the outer space, unprofessionally applied: plastic film can be seen in a lot of places and it is very difficult to walk on. Access to the terrace is hindered by this gravel. The terrace itself is not even, and also covered by rolling gravel. Risk of falling down with one of the chairs. The heating of the jaccuzzi is running all the time . Vibe of a construction site on many sights. Not suitable for elderly and tall persons. Price could be adjusted because of all these unpleasantries.The heated swimming pool and the big garden around are very pleasant. The landscape is very agricultural and invites to a walk or bike ride. For shopping or visits to restaurants one must drive several kilometers. Most of the time it is very silent except for the beautiful birds’ songs.The landlords are very kind and cooperative.

Thank you for your comments Petra. This property has few reviews in VRBO however has 48 reviews on other sites and average rating of 4.98/5 & excellent feedback. It is a shame you did not enjoy your stay. To pick up your comments: - we make it clear from pictures/description this is a small property, the access to the bed is as shown and there are armchairs. The bed is a French-standard 140cm double bed not two 90cm beds joined. We charge a reasonable price for this accomodation with a jacuzzi and shared heated pool. - it is a historic/traditional building so the custom-made entrance door has to be at the height it is. - we have gravelled through the site for consistency of look & feel and limited the number of steps to the side accomodation with a ramp. "Construction site" is incorrect and offensive. - sink and shower were fixed by professional builders at the right height for France and it is actually a large shower. - for the heat, we provide fans. To note it was a record temperature week in France and little we can do on that. - dishwasher is designed for two persons, as is the gite. - the jacuzzi must be on to filter and heat. If guests do not want it available for immediate use, of course it can be turned off. - the property is ~1.5km from a shop and the local restaurant in Mantilly. Again, it is a shame that you did not enjoy. We want to make clear this review is not reflective of the ~50 other guests who have visited, enjoyed and reviewed us positively.
