Nice quiet neighborhood. Disappointed that the pool was closed on Labor Day. We had to dispose of our own garbage. We were limited to one bag each of garbage and recycling for 8 people. The area was full of fun things to do.
This is a rather older cabin; but has been well maintained with upgraded features. The kitchen and all bathrooms were spotless and much newer than the property itself. The main feature to be aware of is the steepness of the driveway, the walk up to the front door and the inside stairs to the upper floor. This is not a complaint - we handled it well and it is disclosed in the description. The reality was a bit more severe than anticipated, however. Again, not a complaint, just a heads-up for any with difficulty with stairs or navigating a steep driveway. The owner was an excellent communicator, very courteous in messaging and ready to please. With only the steepness warning to add, I would recommend this as a good choice for convenience to Highway 4 and a pleasant stay
The house was spacious, the kitchen well equipped and the outdoor dining area amongst the beautiful trees very appealing. Two bedrooms were in the basement and were cool and dark (it was late July and very hot during the day) and comfortable for sleeping. Our kids immediately claimed the basement rooms and it made sense that the loft bedroom with King bed and attached bathroom would be for the parents. But as heat rises and there is no door, even the supplemental A/C unit set at 61 in that space seemed to struggle to cool the loft bedroom. Plus the A/C was somewhat loud, which some may like for the white noise. I tried using different settings on the A/C unit and one night just opened the windows since it cools off nicely outside at night. Anyways, the upstairs temperature could have been better but otherwise we really liked the place.
This cabin had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The kitchen and bathrooms were very clean and well stocked and have been updated. The deck had covers on the furniture and these plus the table needed cleaning off before use, which is not a complaint as it’s outdoor space, just an FYI. The deck is a lovely place to sit and read, eat, or play a game at the table. It was warm upstairs and cool downstairs, and the downstairs bedroom had a wall heater and the upstairs had a portable a/c and fan unit, so everyone was comfortable.
