About this property
Comfortable home with stunning porch views
Enjoy your stay in a quiet, comfortable home nestled in the Pensacola Valley, recently outfitted with new flooring! Explore the nearby small town of Burnsville, spend time in the great outdoors hiking or fishing, or simply sit on the spacious front or back porches and take in the views of the surrounding mountains. There is something for everyone looking to enjoy our little corner of Appalachia.
PLEASE NOTE: This area is still recovering from Hurricane Helene. There is ongoing cleanup, including a debris disposal site nearby. Please check online for closure updates before planning outings.
The space:
Nestled on the edge of a farm with both covered front and back porches, Scenic Valley Farm is a comfortable 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home with lots of space to relax. Though in the midst of mountains, the driveway is flat and the house is easy to get to.
It is surrounded by some cattle pastures, so you may see and hear cows. (Please do not enter the pastures if cows are there!) There is river access for guests a short walk away.
Since we are in a rural area, you may see deer, wild turkeys, coyotes or other wildlife. Please do not leave food or trash outside for them to get into!
Both to respect those with allergies and because we are in a rural location, we do not allow pets or smoking and will charge at least a $200 additional cleaning fee for violations of the no pet and/or no smoking policies.
Guest access:
Other than the garage and a closet that we use for storage, guests have access to the entire house!
Other things to note:
-While cell service is unreliable in the valley, we do have strong wifi in the house and a house phone. Please note that when the power is off so are the internet and phone.
-This is a rural area and service may take a while. We try to have everything in good working order, however, we cannot guarantee that repairs can be made quickly. Please let us know if something is not working, and we will try to get it fixed.
-Please be respectful of our neighbors and park in a way that does not block access to other homes from the shared driveway.

About the host
Hosted by Mary Beth Thurman

I love sharing our valley with people and hope that all who visit here will be refreshed!
Why they chose this property
Members of our family have lived in the valley for 4 generations! We love being surrounded by mountains and enjoy watching the wildlife and the neighboring farm’s cows!
What makes this property unique
We have a large front porch with rockers and swings in which to relax and a back deck with grill and outdoor table.
While surrounded by mountains, our home is easily accessible. Our driveway is flat and the roads are mostly kept clear in the winter months.
We are far enough from town to enjoy the rural atmosphere, but close enough for access to stores and restaurants.
