We had a fabulous stay at this mountain retreat! The house has a fun "contemporary woodsy" vibe. Bright, spotless, and fun! As Dr. Who would say, "It's bigger on the inside!"
Perfect setting to sit and watch the sunrise and sunset. Enjoyed watching the deer play in the yard. House had everything you need. Very well stocked with all goodies and surprises. All you need is your clothes! Great way to end the day with soaking in the bathtub by candlelight. Truly enjoyed our stay.
Beautiful location, very responsive and communicative hosts who made sure we had everything we needed, and a perfect location near the folk school. Would definitely stay here again if visiting the area!
Our stay was absolutely wonderful. The property was just as described and had everything we needed for a relaxing vacation. We especially appreciated the comfortable beds and how clean everything was. The host was incredibly responsive and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat
I chose this listing for the views and we were thrilled with all of the windows on front of the house. Another favorite was the views off the back deck. We arrived early for check in due to my sister losing her wallet in Murphy and thank you to Apryl for her kindness. The house was beautifully furnished and we enjoyed all of the comforts of being home. A big plus for us was the Broan stove!
The location was great and the house is very cute. The owner was great at making the place feel welcoming and provided us with everything we needed. It’s a great place if no more than 2 people, due to it being a smaller place. The furniture isn’t super comfortable, but we were gone most of the day and only at the place in the late afternoon/evening. I wasn’t aware that the AC is window units in the living rooms and bedrooms, wasn’t sure if that was in the listing or if I missed it. Also be mindful that the tub isn’t connected to the floor and my mother in law had to have assistance getting out of the tub.
We came up to this area while visiting family and had a wonderful stay. Apryl and Daniel were quick to respond to questions, very sweet to leave some waters and treats in the fridge and contacted us to see if we were still planning to stay during a snow storm. Everything was clean and in working order, the beds were comfortable and the location was beautiful. Thank you, Apryl & Daniel!
My wife and I were lucky enough to come across this wonderful cabin on a short notice. We both took a class at the Folk School and the cabin was the perfect place to stay.

This cabin was amazing. It was furnished and decorated so beautifully, and extremely clean. The host had thought of everything needed to assure a pleasant stay. She was easy to communicate with, and checked to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. We only stayed one night, but would love to go back when we could stay longer and enjoy this very nice cabin, along with the beautiful view.
My Dad and I stayed here over the long July the 4th weekend and had a blast. The property is so close to everything, yet still remote and private. The hosts were a pleasure to work with and their bar in downtown Murphy named The Mason Bar was great for food, drinks and live music. The house itself was very cute, clean and well maintained. I'd go again in a heartbeat.
drinks, and great live music fun an
This home is a delightful log house with beautiful views, extreme care to decor, detail and comfort!
The soaking tub is beautiful! We were happy to have a Keurig Coffeemaker and very comfortable beds. There’s a lovely backyard deck with chairs, a fire pit and grill the owners made sure to communicate with us to make sure everything met or exceeded our expectations. The house is equipped with very up-to-date features including a smart TV, washer and dryer, and an amply supplied kitchen with dishwasher. They have a collection of delightful books and games. Every bit of our stay was five star!
Well, in the area, be sure to check out the John C Campbell, folk school just minutes from the house. Also, our one regret was that we did not eat at the restaurant owned by the homeowners while in Murphy, North Carolina, just a few minutes up the road. We will definitely do that next time! The restaurant is called The Mason Bar.
We would highly recommend this rental property to you.
Beautiful property in Brasstown NC. It's a calming, soothing, rejuvenating environment, tastefully decorated with a very spacious feel. Full of natural light from the wall of windows in front of the house. Literally five minutes from driveway of home to driveway of the Folkschool. If they'd sell it to me for what I have in my bank account, I'd buy it in a heartbeat!
The house is great and the hosts were wonderful. If you are looking for a house that is off the beaten path but easy to get to in the Brasstown area, this is your place. For people attending John C. Campbell Folk School, this is very convenient and cost competitive with on-site housing but way nicer then the on-site housing.
