About this property
Wood Haven on the River- cozy cottage on the Hiawassee River in Hayesville NC
This 2 bedroom 2 bath cozy cottage is located just outside the city limits of Hayesville, North Carolina. There is a king size bed in the master bedroom and a queen size bed in the 2nd bedroom. Wood Haven is only minutes away from everything! From fine restaurants to fast food and everything in between. Some of the best antique shops and repair shops for your high-tech gadgets. Anywhere you drive you will see many places to enjoy. For the history minded, the area was once part of the Quanassee Trading Path and was inhabited by the Cherokee Indians. There are still artifacts being found to this day! If you enjoy the nightlife, there are breweries, bars and clubs in any direction. Only 30 minutes from Helen, GA, and Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino in Murphy, North Carolina. 15 minutes from the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds in Hiawassee Georgia. For outdoors/nature lovers there’s Lake Chatuge for boating and the Chatuge Dam for hiking and biking. Great golf courses at such places as Brasstown Valley Resort, The Ridges and Chatuge Shores. You pick farms, wineries, hiking trails -Hayesville is approximately 25 miles from the Appalachian Trail. Wood Haven on the River can be a little hard to find even though the home is less than a ¼ mile from a paved road (Myers Chapel.) Once you arrive, the only road you see is a sparsely populated dead-end road across the river. Wood Haven sits on the bank of the Hiawassee River, where you will enjoy watching the river flow from the screened in back porch complete with a propane fire pit. If you wish to take advantage of fishing, canoeing or kayaking, pay close attention to the TVA release schedules and be safe. With so much to do, it is hard to believe how peaceful, quiet and tranquil Wood Haven on the River is. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
