Cute apartment

Cute apartment complex. Had all the amenities needed for our trip and comfortable furniture. We were in Salt Lake City for a 3 part surgical procedure for my wife and it was a terrific place to rest and recover. Nice, quiet neighborhood.

I booked for 2 months while looking for permanent housing. This is better suited to skiers who are gone all day or short-term stays.The apartment was dirty on arrival. Dirt marks on the walls, heavy dust buildup, a bathroom that appeared barely cleaned: stained bathmat, hair in the toilet, grime in the tub, debris in the cabinet, and an old, grimy shower curtain. The bedding was stained, and the kitchen mat and sponges smelled strongly of mildew. I reported the bedding and bathroom; the owner sent new bedding and cleaners, but the issues felt more extensive than a one-time cleaning problem.A week in, I discovered a powerful urine smell coming from the utility closet whenever the laundry ran. A plumber confirmed no plumbing issue and that it smelled like old urine. Cleaning helped somewhat, but the odor persisted.There was also a persistent musty smell throughout the unit that absorbed into my luggage and even my cats' fur. The AC made a frequent groaning noise, disrupting sleep. The interior security lock shown in the photos was missing, and the bathroom outlet didn't work.The owner was responsive, but resolving these issues required repeated maintenance visits, which was difficult while working. When I asked to end my stay early with two weeks' notice after finding permanent housing, they refused a prorated refund, despite these issues.Positives: internet, comfortable bed, parking, nearby commerce, public transit. The apartment could have potential.
