The Turtle Townhouse is “vacation-ready”. With 2 bedrooms/2 full baths, a fully equipped kitchen with all-new appliances, living room with 40" Smart TV (Smart TVs in each bedroom), sunny spacious deck with gas-grill, table, chairs & umbrella, WIFI, pet-friendly (dogs, only); the Turtle Townhouse is waiting for you! Its location is 20 steps from the heated pool/100 steps from Gulf Beach/30 steps from Pickle Ball Courts. The beach dunes have been refurbished, as of 4/2023, and new walkway crossovers are completed. The beach is wide open and ready to be enjoyed.

Cape San Blas has its two convenience stores (oneis being rebuilt0 & gas station open, along with St. Joe Shrimp Company fish market (also serving lunch) open. Weber’s Doughnuts is open, now locat ed near Scallop Republic. Bicycle/ kayak rentals are operating. Nearby restaurants on the Cape include Longbills, Coneheads. The golf course is open.


In Port St. Joe, restaurants are open. The Piggley Wiggley and Dollar General supermarkets are open. The Turtle Townhouse is located on Cape San Blas, with the Gulf of Mexico on one side and St. Joseph's Bay on the other. Located in Barrier Dunes, a gated community with private beach access. White sand, emerald green water, dolphins playing near shore, make this pristine beach, 18 miles long, a wonderful stretch of paradise where you can walk to your heart's content. Many times you will be the only one on the beach.

Families will not only enjoy the warm sand and water, but also the two pools, stocked fishing ponds and the lighted tennis/pickle-ball courts in Barrier Dunes. Golfers will find the St. Joseph's Bay Country Club course (just a 15 minute drive away) challenging and scenic.

Barrier Dunes is located at the gate of the St. Joseph's Bay State Park which offers beautiful hiking trails along the bay, magnificent dunes, and outstanding bird watching. St. Joseph's Bay offers a wealth of activities including boating, kayaking, snorkeling, fishing and some of the best scalloping in the Gulf.

This townhouse has three balconies, two with views of the pond and its many turtles. The decks have outside seating, a patio table with umbrella, a gas grill, and great morning sun.

The master bedroom has a king-size bed, the guest bedroom has a queen bed, and there is a fold-out queen sleeper sofa. It comfortably sleeps six. Beds have 100% cotton sheets. The fully-stocked kitchen has many amenities including an ice maker, microwave, dishwasher, and all small appliances.

The master bedroom has a full bath with two sinks, garden tub and large separate shower. It has a large walk-in closet.

The guest bedroom has a full bath with tub/shower combination.

The living room and bedrooms have HD-TVs with streaming. DVD player is available in living room. WIFI is available(provided by Consolidated).

There are beach chairs, umbrellas, kick-boards, some sand buckets & toys available for use in the storage room off the carport. There is an outdoor shower with hot & cold running water. It's great for cleaning sand off or washing your dog. We have two new 26" adult bicycles (one male, one female) available for use by renters.

There are numerous turtles in the pond behind the townhouse, thus the name Turtle Townhouse. The turtles will come to see you if you come out on the deck, and they like to eat lettuce/carrot shavings, if you want to feed them.

Cape San Blas is a special place. It is relaxing and you will be glad that you found this place.
There are NO HIGH-RISES or cabanas on Cape San Blas.

We enjoyed our stay! Great place to call our home for a week. It’s a short walk to the beach, and all the extra beach items we had to use was awesome. Barbara was fast to respond with any questions, and made the whole rental and check in process extremely easy.

Perfect Getaway

My wife and I stayed for a week and we had a great time. The property is clean and fits exactly what you need if you are a beach goer. We enjoyed our time spent in the condo, though we spent most on the beach. We brought our own chairs, but they provide some If you prefer to pack light.

The property is perfectly located by the smaller pool and an easy, short walk to the beach. Barbara was great to communicate with, she checked in with us after we arrived and was so easy to work with. We will definitely stay here again. The townhouse was was very clean and comfortable! The master bedroom bed was the most comfortable one we have ever had in all the places we have rented! I also appreciated that some spices etc were there for guest to use! Barrier Dunes is a very pet friendly complex and it's nice and clean! We absolutely loved the beach, it was clean and the water is gorgeous.

Turtle Townhouse was a great place to relax and unwind! The property was clean and bright. It had everything we needed and more! Lots of thought was put into what people might need and it shows! The Turtle Townhouse was better than expected. Everything was clean, newer, and in good working shape except for a few items, everything cant be perfect: dog hair in the carpet & ice maker didn't work. Otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the facilities, and the cape overall. The location of Barrier Dunes is perfect, north on the cape, close to the State Park (awesome) and nice beaches and water. The owners were very responsive and helpful and we appreciated them accommodating us. I would stay at this townhome over again.

Wonderful, more affordable Beach Townhouse!

We very much felt at home in the Turtle Townhouse! I was so impressed with how clean it was! I liked that it was not cluttered, but still had everything we needed and I liked the owners taste. Some considerations for dog parents: Our dog was afraid of going down the slippery steep stairs & is too heavy to carry, so we had to take him out on the stair case from the balcony, which has wood stairs, but are open from the back, so it was a bit of a challenge at first. The stairs to the upper master bedroom are covered with carpet though.

Awesome place!

This was our first trip to Cape San Blas and it was a great experience. Most of the things you need are already available in this rental. We enjoyed the turtles that came out to sun and eat bread everyday. I was concerned about the walk to the beach and the stairs to the room for my 80 yr old mother but she made it fine morning and evening. The beach was not too crowded, we left our tent and chairs out all week. Everyone we encountered was friendly and nice. The things you do need you might want to pick up in Port Saint Joe on your way in. We ate at the Cape Smokehouse and it was good. Beach planet had some nice souvenirs. The owners are very responsive. We hope to return.

We are retired couple from Maine(Tom is a Black Bear) & Wisconsin (Barbara is a Badger). We've lived overseas in Bangladesh & China, in our former careers in education.

Why they chose this property

We came to Barrier Dunes because of our hound-dog Penelope. We love that Cape San Blas is dog-friendly, and that dog-owners are responsible about keeping the beach clean. The relaxed pace here is to our liking, as it is not too crowded, has little traffic, and is not built-up. We love all the different birds.

What makes this property unique

We love the morning light on our deck. We loved seeing 17 turtles coming to say hello from the pond, and watch us, like we were watching them. Hearing cardinals and watching them fly back & forth, along with many other beautiful birds, is a special experience. The beautiful sunsets on the Gulf make us treasure the natural beauty here.
