Charming 1920's lakefront cottage on Great Pond, sunsets from the dock
This four-bedroom cottage combines the vintage charm of a rustic lake house with modern updates to make your stay carefree. The property offers plenty of spaces for guests to relax and unwind, including an expansive screen porch overlooking 100 feet of private wooded shoreline on a quiet cove.
The outdoor areas are just right for enjoying beloved summer activities: swim, nap in a shaded hammock, and gather around the fire pit as you watch the sun set over the lake. A canoe, two kayaks and two stand-up paddleboards are available, and the dock is set up to accommodate a motor boat if you wish to rent from the marina.
The cottage’s great room includes a cozy living area with a smart TV, WiFi, games, and well-stocked bookshelf. Meals can be enjoyed at the indoor dining table, or at the picnic table on the screen porch. There are two modernized rooms in the cottage: a bathroom with shower, and a well-equipped kitchen with fridge, oven and microwave. We supply linens, paper goods, cookware and some basic kitchen supplies.
Upstairs, four bedrooms provide ample sleeping space with classic Maine camp style . Each bedroom has 12-foot walls that are open to the rafters above. To preserve the historic interior, the cottage is not insulated.
PLEASE NOTE there is no air conditioning in the cottage, but each bedroom has two large windows and fans to circulate the cooler evening air.
STAIRS: guests must be able to readily navigate stairs to access all parts of the property: the entrances to the cottage, the bedrooms and the waterfront all require use of stairs.

This cottage on Great Pond was absolutely perfect for our family vacation. The property is lovingly maintained, has charm galore, and has all the special amenities you could want on a lake - plentiful lake rafts and toys, a fire pit, hammock, kayaks, games, cooking supplies and beach towels and washer and dryer. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!! And the owners were awesome to communicate with. We couldn’t recommend it more!
The Hannum cottage is a delightful retreat located on a quiet cove offering a peaceful setting for relaxation and beautiful sunsets. The host was warm and welcoming, and full of helpful tips that made our stay even better. The cottage itself is charming, well maintained, with comfortable furnishings. Amenities were thoughtfully provided, and everything was spotless.Whether enjoying a morning coffee on the screen porch, or winding down on the sounds if nature the setting invites relaxation. If you’re looking for a place where charm meets comfort the cottage is a good choice. Looking forward to next year.
WOW. What a great find in the middle of Maine. The house and views exceeded our expectations and Lynn was a great communicator as we navigated a family trip to Rome. The house was spotless and came with plenty of water toys to enjoy the lake. We have stayed at many places and give this one a 10 ( PLUS ). Thanks Lynn for being an amazing host.
Stayed here with 6 friends for my partner’s birthday celebration for the weekend. The house was lovely & comfortable. Decorations were tasteful! Not too many painted wooden word signs, if you know what I mean. The kitchen and water craft shed were stocked to perfection. The property had been updated in ways that also allow it to keep its “camp” feel. We all really appreciated that about it. 10/10, would book again (and in fact, I’m hoping to)
I had a lovely stay at this beautiful cottage on Great Pond. Everything was just as described, but even better in person! The bedrooms were small, but comfortable, the kitchen was well-stocked with just about every tool or gadget you might need, and there was plenty of seating in the living room/dining room and porch. The bathroom shower was small, but functional. My favorite things were swimming in the lake, sitting on the dock and listening to the loons while reading, and enjoying a thunderstorm on the screen porch. Lynn was a very communicative and gracious host. Highly recommended!
We had an amazing week at Lynn’s cottage. It was extremely clean and well-organized. Every time we wondered if there was an item, they had it! From small toiletries to beach towels to paper products, the rental was very well stocked. There was even a nice tray for my charcuterie board during our happy hour lakeside. We were amazed at all they provided in the shed. Life vests, fishing rods, paddles, etc... We rent on the lakes every summer and this was a first. I was worried about renting a cottage this old, since they tend to have that damp musty old camp smell. If you grew up in the lakes you know what I’m talking about, but this property had zero smell. It was just a hint of wood, but clean. They did a very nice job modernizing the kitchen and bathroom. We had 4 adults/4 kids sharing the bathroom and it was not an issue; it is large, so you can have an adult and kid in there at the same time- no problem! Our only tip is to bring headlamps. If you have little kids going down the stairs at night to the fire pit, it is dark. Lynn had excellent communication and was very responsive. If you want the feel of a real deal camp, but with modern amenities, this is the rental for you!

My husband and I are both from central Maine and have deep family roots here. Each of us grew up loving our grandparents' old lake camps - they were relaxed gathering places for family, and all-day fun for kids. We are now fortunate to have our own family camp on Great Pond, and are delighted to open the property to guests for a few beautiful weeks each summer.
