WELCOME TO ANCHORS AWEIGH Come admire the beautiful sunsets that False River consistently shows off for our recently updated, 2450 square foot 4 bed/3bath home, located on the island side. The covered , private pier can be used to dock your boat, fishing, swimming, and/or just sitting relaxing on the swing. Bring your boat or rent one in nearby New Roads. In the cooler seasons, enjoy the outdoor fireplace or watching the game with friends on one of the 6 flatscreens throughout the house and porch. Better yet, catch the Tigers at Death Valley (approximately 35 min drive) and enjoy the rest of the weekend on False River. LAKE WATER LEVELS We have no control over the water levels of False River and the water around the dock and pier can be very shallow at times. Please seek knowledge of any local, parish or state government plans to alter the water level or a lake draw down during your stay on the premises. No refunds will be given due to water levels. LAKE LIFE Enjoy boating, kayaking, paddle boarding and fishing off the dock or hand out by the outdoor fireplace and watch the stars. There are also many great restaurants/bars and historic mansion tours nearby. LAKE LIFE HAPPENS False River has an active water fowl population. Despite our quarterly power washing and weekly wipe downs of the dock furniture, you will likely encounter some bird poop. We are sorry for the inconvenience but it is all a part of lake life.

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
We disable the icemaker in the refrigerator to reduce risk of damage to floors if power is lost. Bring your own cooler and ice and store on the porch.
After 10pm as a courtesy to neighbors, please move to the dock to enjoy conversation and cocktails.
Please do not leave back door open indefinitely when on the screened in porch. It's south Louisiana and the humidity can cause damage to electronics.

The house and property was very nice, comfortable and perfect for a family gathering. The house was spacious and well furnished. The screened in back porch and outside sitting area was perfect for enjoying the outside. The lake view was beautiful and the pier/dock was nice to enjoy.
We had such a wonderful time staying here! The house was absolutely perfect — not only beautiful inside, but also set in a gorgeous location. The backyard was a highlight, with a stunning view of the lake, a spacious screened-in porch, and a cozy seating area around a great outdoor fireplace. Our host, Jena, was amazing. She checked in periodically to make sure everything was going smoothly, and any time I had a question, she responded quickly and kindly. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway with breathtaking views and plenty of space to enjoy with friends or family, this is definitely the place to book!
We had a great weekend in False River! For most of us, it was our first experience at an LSU and needed a good place/location for the game. Ma Mamma’s is a great place for evening meal. Great food and perfect place to take a big group or just your special someone. The house was clean, spacious and provided everything and more for our group. I would definitely recommend this place for a great stay.

Starting the day before the actually check in date, Jena was very informative and courteous. I had all the information needed for the check in and check out process and was told if any else was needed to just contact her via the phone number provided. The house was great and had plenty of space for a nice thanksgiving dinner. I would highly recommend this property if you are planning to visit the area!

Thank you so much, Jack! We are thrilled you enjoyed your Thanksgiving stay and hope you will come again.
This house is amazing. Plenty of room for everyone! We are four ladies traveling and it checked all the boxes. Great beds, bathrooms are perfect too. The area is very quiet and we slept great. Played games at the big table, had coffee on the sofa and wine on the screened in porch. Bugs were too bad to venture outside. River was drained so we chose not to go out on the pier but trust me, you want to rent this jewel of a home. Close to plantation homes we toured and St Francisville is sooo friendly. Hope to return one day.

Thank you so much, Susan! We are so happy you all enjoyed the house. We would love to have you again any time.
This was my first VRBO or similar (e.g.Air-BNB) experience. The location was wonderful, the property speculator, and the owner/host was everything you could hope for.
We had a family gathering of 22 to meet my daughter’s future husband Anchor’s Aweigh was the perfect place to host the occasion. We actually slept 15 utilizing the comfrey coach. The remaining 7 ((my married daughter and her 5 children) just drove up for the day.. We rented a pontoon boat from Geaux Outdoors (which for an additional fee will deliver the boat to and retrieve it from your pier). A full day of fun on the water swimming, tubing and paddle boarding. Many of the “water toys were dented or self supplied, but some were supplied with the rental property, including a paddle board, a kayak, and a lilypad.
The rental was well supplies with pots, pans, skillets, spoons, spatulas, etc. Also many spices were supplied for your convenience. Only one roll of TP supplied for each bathroom so bring your own for an extended stay or if you are hosting a large gathering.
On a five star rating, this was definitely a five. Only thing rating 4 stars concerned the electronic entry which was not user friendly. However, Jena., the owner had given me her number and was available to assist.
Finally, Jena also gets 5 stars for responding to all the many questions this VRBO newbie threw her way.
