Great weekend stay

Property is a little worn but clean and comfortable, perfect for a long weekend stay. Tucked away in a great location with Fall Run running right behind the property.

Great Cabin Getaway

This was a great cabin getaway. The cabin everything we needed to stay in the whole weekend if we wanted to but there is also so much fun stuff to do nearby especially if you love the outdoors. Host was helpful and communicative. I hope to stay here again in the future!

I am naturally a very positive person. But something rubbed me the wrong way. The neighbors were overbearing. They complained the first night about noise. Literally it was myself and my two kids and my mom with dementia. We were in bed each night before 10pm. We were told by the neighbor to put our garbage inside the cabin. We were there for 4 days and really didn’t want to sleep with the smell. The cabin was quaint but clean. But there is no “covered porch”. The rules refer to the porch for trash but unlike the pictures, there is no screened porch. The foliage is overwhelming. The owners show pictures of a clean landscape then claim the overgrowth is for privacy. Be ware. There is no room for any type of luggage in the bedrooms. Our suitcases were kept in the “dining room”. After check out the owner then contacted us because a towel was missing. This was not intentional. And the towels on site were similar to what I wash my car with. I hate posting this. And I don’t think I would have until the whole towel thing. This is nuts!!

Fantastic Relaxing Weekend

We instantly fell in love with the cabin. Very cozy, right by the water! Everything was perfect. We cooked out, had a fire outside and inside all 3 nights we stayed. We couldn't of asked for a better weekend. Recharged our batteries for sure. We hope to make this place a yearly stay! Thank you!

Perfect getaway

A quiet little cabin off a dirt road that was fully equipped for some creekside relaxation. We played cards outside, waded in the creek, visited local sites, watched vhs tapes and really had a chance to connect and have fun. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen was equipped enough for us to cook some meals!

My sister and I met halfway to celebrate our birthdays (65 and 50!). Due to covid had not been together in 3 years. So how magical to find this perfect place for our getaway! Cabin is quaint and so clean. Spent hours listening to the water from the creek and sitting by the fire. Nice walks as you are adjacent to a state forest! And short drive to Fallingwater and Ohiopyle. Lynne was a helpful and gracious host. Planning our return!

The good..and not so good....

The good- 1. Beautiful creek and waterfall behind the cabin 2. Clean & equipped for a weekend away 3. Central location 4. Quiet "neighborhood" The Bad- 1. 2 neighbors DIRECTLY/on "top" of/beside the cabin & even though they have up privacy fences, it's still not a private feel. 2. The dampness of the property and the smell that comes back on all your linens, etc 3. The main bed is so soft, you sink into it and if you dont like an extremely soft mattress topper you wont sleep well. The bunk beds are the opposite with extremely thin mattresses to a point where you can feel the bars underneath you. Overall, its a decent little cabin, but not our family's perfect fit for weekends away and will look elsewhere next trip to the area.

Nice location but small details matter

This was a nice property on a pretty creek with waterfall but a couple small things prevented a five rating. The towels were of low quality thin and old. Utensils were minimal and cookware was old and in some cases not usable. There was only one garbage bag in the whole place. Just these small things that could make a four rating s five rating

Diamond in the rough

The pictures online were accurate but we were not prepared for what we found. When we arrived we almost couldn't find the house. It was all overgrown and hadn't been touched for a long time. Gutters had plants growing. There was no address on house. When we opened the door the smell hit us, mildew/mold mixed with an air freshener. It was very dark, 2 of 3 light bulbs were out, clock didn't work, old broken down furniture, the futon was horrible! The kitchen lacked dishes and pans we needed, beds were foam on top of mattress, curtains were shears and rods were broken, only a few windows opened and the window air conditioner was so loud we had to turn in off, bathroom had 1 towel and washcloth per person for entire stay and they were old beach towels. The floors/carpets were sticky. Screened porch was unpleasant and we didn't use it. Very dark and had old, uncomfortable furniture. It was on the front of house and weeds covered the windows. We couldn't enjoy the creek from there. All inside furnishings were unacceptable! We just wanted to go home! Couldn't sleep with the smell. We opened windows and cooked and by the time we left it was better. But too late. The grill was old and lid broken. The campfire area was great and we enjoyed the rushing water of the creek. However, there was no effort made to clean up the weeds and area around the picnic table. I have stayed at other VRBO sites and never had a problem. I was in charge of finding the cabin and we met another couple there. Imagine how I felt that it was so bad! They understood. As I sat there I could imagine how wonderful this place could be if it was updated and refurnished. It doesn't have to be expensive furnishings, even used things would be better than this! Sorry to have to leave a negative response but I don't want anyone else to have the experience we had. I wish a VRBO representative could go there and see what we experienced. Not sure why there were so many positive reviews?

Outdated/ neglected

We loved the location of tue place although it was not numbered and very hard to find at night. It worked for our family of 5 but I was very disappointed in the quality of everything. From the kitchen having missing cabinet doors, mix matched plates, silverware, etc and not even having a basic toaster to the leather coach being torn up and spider webs on very old screens and doors, it was sad to see how much the place has been neglected in a well cared for area. The beds were uncomfortable and squeaky and there was no hair dryer The towels were mix matched and scratchy and the back was over grown and had protective yellow jackets. While we enjoyed meeting the neighbors, fishing in the back yard and walking up to Blue Hole, it ended up not creating a relaxing weekend away from our crazy life. We really tried to make do and survived but it definitely could be an amazing place with a little bit of LTC. .
