This feels like home for our entire family. With the easy access to the creek and Bijou park, we can keep ourselves entertained without even visiting the lake.
The cabin is 12 minutes drive to heavenly gondola , 5 minutes to Tahoe beach - excellent location.
Host is nice and accommodating.Neighbors are friendly. Truly enjoyed my stay.
This is our second year coming to this home after being locals for years and moving. We absolutely love it, my kids live in the creek in the back the whole time (swimming and tubing) and the location is perfect. We will continue to come and cant wait until next year.

Squirrels in the walls means no sleep after 530 am corrected after 3.5 weeks.
My past summer stays were great but this summer animals were running in the walls all day so woke me up at 530 am. For 3.5 weeks. Bad luck but could have been corrected before we arrived per the cleaning staff

Great little house in town!
This little house in the town of South Lake Tahoe provides wonderful accommodation for a family of up to 10 people or more and is a great value. There is a spacious great room with a large dining table and chairs, also couches that could accommodate a mess of children. The two upstairs bedrooms each have two beds. The master downstairs has a queen bed and large bureau and room to hang clothes. There is a large capacity washer-drawer in a somewhat cluttered room off the kitchen.
The main residence is just the sort of rustic cabin decor you imagine a house in Tahoe should be including an easy to use gas log fireplace. The property backs up to a public greenbelt where people walk their dogs and kids go to play in the creek and swim. On a summer night it's a treat to sit out in the meadow and watch the sunlight turn the high ridgeline of nearby Heavenly Ski Resort golden, then gaze at stars. My stay was in July. I have not stayed in the winter, but it seems it would be fine for a wintertime ski vacation. Only about 10 minutes away from Heavenly.
The only minor criticisms -- the kitchen is functional but dated with minimal counter space and there is no dishwasher. Owners, please de-clutter the kitchen drawers of about two-thirds of the utensils, less is more in that regard. Pots and pans are plentiful enough, but past their prime. Also, there is only one shower, so a larger group of adults will have to schedule bathroom time. Also the laundry room shelves are jam-crammed with stuff of no use to guests. Suggest clearing that out to a place guests would not be using. One last thing, an umbrella or two in the backyard would make it more comfortable, and consider getting rid of, or repairing, the broken patio furniture.

Glad that you enjoyed our little cabin!
It is an older Tahoe style cabin with a small kitchen with limited room for counter space and yes, no dishwasher. These are things that would be difficult to remedy even with a remodel given the space available.
I will concentrate on de-cluttering the cabinets and drawers. The laundry area is also very small with the relatively new addition of the washer and dryer
( I was surprised they would fit!) for the convineince of the guests. The other
items in there are storage for repair and repainting. There is no garage for us to store these items in. The outdoor furniture takes a beating in the winter snow and every year a few items need to be replaced.
I hadn't thought of an umbrella because of all the trees but will bring one up for next summer.
Thank you for your suggestions we do appreciate them.
We try to implement as many as we can to make the cabin as comfortable as we can for our guests.
We loved staying in this home! The beds were comfy, the setting gorgeous----terrific mountain and meadow views!----and the Family Room and TV huge! We enjoyed watching the birds, chipmunks, and bears in the area, too. Will stay here again! <3
I was stuck during the epic storm and Marilyn was always in touch with me and very patient because I couldn’t leave with all of the roads closed. My family and I had the opportunity to meet there and enjoyed having BBQ’s. My son attended Heavenly winter snowboarding school for the first time and we loved all his progress. If you are comparing a hotel with this cabin for a long stay, this cabin is definitely always better. You can cook your own food and have plenty of room. You can also enjoy a beautiful view while watching movies. . One thing I admire about Marilyn was how polite she was the whole time. God, please, Bless her and her Cabin with many good people booking her place.
We had a great time during our stay. Cabin was just as described, cute little house with plenty of space for your group. Kitchen has enough to be able to prepare your dinners if you choose.
We were expecting what we walked into based on other reviews. Please read the reviews before booking. Cabin is affordable unlike any other in the area! Convenient location to the market, gas station, restraunts bike rentals, Pope and Baldwin Beach. The entire family enjoyed every inch of space including walking out to the creek through the meadow. We were in search of the swings mentioned in others reviews. Loved everything. We loved it so much we wanted to stay an additional day. Luckily the owner was able to extend our stay one more day. To anyone that stays there be nice and help clean after yourself. Don’t forget how much your paying! If you are expecting resort looking uhm look somewhere else this is not for you. We made it work for us and it all worked perfectly. Plan for only 2 burners working. The kitchen has all the utensils, pots, pans that you could need. I loved the notes throughout to let you know what to do and not to do. I do think the most difficult time was trying to figure out which control went to what t.v. The upstairs does warm up next time I will bring our own stick on screens to leave the windows upstairs open all night. The fans all night made it bareable. Plenty of seating inside and out for more than 8. The trash LOL this was my first time emptying trash in a bear secure bin. First night attempted to dump it inside the neighbors bin because that’s what I noticed in the driveway. The trash bin for this property is in the front yard kind of covered by landscaping. Very quiet neighborhood. Also back laundry door locks but you have to pull door in to make sure it latches secure. Overall great stay!! Great price!! Great communication with owner!
Typical older cabin, but in a great location on a great lot. Big backyard that is both comfortable with all the lounges, chairs and tables and also opens up to US forest service land with a creek.
Comfortable lodging. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch.
Access to everything we needed, I.e. stores, dining was very easy to get to from this location. Will rent again.
This house is in a neighborhood, but with it backing up to the meadow, it feels like you are really in a cabin in the woods. We loved this house, it is older and not fancy, but super comfy with plenty of room to spread out, reminded me of going to your favorite great-aunts house as a kid. It was very clean and the beds were comfy. Plenty of towels and extra bedding. Washer and dryer if you need it. The upstairs can get pretty warm during the day, but just opening a window and turning on a fan solved that. We all loved the creek out back so much that we spent most of our time at the house just relaxing, but it’s also very close to see the lake and the casinos were only about 15 minutes away. The house is also close to many great restaurants. Off the Hook for some great sushi, Jaliscos for awesome and very affordable Mexican food, Slice of the Sierra for New York style pizza, and Jade Garden had some good Chinese food. We didn’t do too much cooking, but there were lots of pots and pans, utensils and dishes. All in all, a great place to stay and looking forward to going back again.
Lovely little place to stay in the middle of a beautiful part of the world. Two large family room type areas provide lots of space for your family to spread out and relax throughout the day. Bedrooms are rather small, but adequate for a good nights rest. Kitchen is very antiquated and appliances are functional, but a little scary. Bonus that there is a washer/dryer. Most of the beds are upstairs in the two bedrooms, but the only shower is downstairs next to the downstairs bedroom. The best part of our stay was the location - the creek out the back is fantastic. Had a hard time pulling our kiddos away from it each day!
My husband and I wanted to take out kids to Tahoe for the weekend and this cabin was in great proximity to the local town and lake. The neighborhood is very quiet and nice. The actual cabin is extremely outdated on the inside. I have never seen such an old oven, but everything worked and that's what mattered. Not a ton of lights in the kitchen but that's no biggie.
What really bothered me was that the inside of the cabin wasn't that clean upon further inspection. When we first walked in, it looked great, but then my husband went upstairs to look at the bedrooms for the kids and he found a dirty used bowl, trash, and empty water bottles. Then one of my kids came to me and said they found a mask. Then a few minutes later my husband found 2 vape sticks in the couch cushions. Then, I went to put my daughters carseat cover in the washing machine (slight carsickness accident) and found wet bathmats in the washer.
During the rest of our weekend we proceeded to find, two pairs of socks, another mask, and more water bottles throughout the rooms of the cabin. It does state in the description that the housekeeper can not move heavy furniture but really, it was becoming ridiculous. For the price we paid, I would have expected it to be much cleaner.
I did message the owner who apologized and that was that. In terms of other amenities, there is a charcoal grill, but no matches or lighter so be prepared to bring your own. Also, bring your own plastic bags, paper towels, laundry soap, as she either had very little or none of these things.
Also, if you do have children and choose to let them sleep in the upstairs bedrooms, do not leave the windows open as there are no screens on them to prevent them from leaning out.
As stated before, it was fine for a weekend but I think next time we will find something much more updated and clean.
This cabin was so fun. Beautiful area. The owner answered my call when we arrived early. We were able to drop our belongings off and head out until check in. Beds were cozy and tons of room. The house cleaner didn't clean well but overall the cabin so fun and prefect for what we needed.
It was an amazing little spot. The backyard opening up to a meadow.. creek running through had 2 swings. Our last day we had a bear in the backyard!!! Will def be back to this little house
Our stay here was incredible - the space in this rental was great for our crew to relax and recover after biking the Lake Tahoe loop. South Lake holds a special place in my heart and our stay here has definitely cemented that! Check in was easy, check out instructions were clear, and the place was really well kept. I will definitely be keeping this spot in mind when we come back up to Tahoe.
