This cabin is unique and in a fantastic location just up Big cottonwood Canyon! The lay-out is nice and the big windows overlooking the creek and stone wall/bridge added to the experience. We loved sleeping with the creek right out the window. And we were visited by a little family of wild turkeys--a mama and her babies.
If you want to step back in time and enjoy the simple pleasures of life, this will fill the bill. This cabin has a rich historic past located steps from a low rock fence and a meandering river, which relaxed you in the day and lulls you to sleep at night. We watched a mother turkey and her brood scratching for food outside our floor to ceiling windows at breakfast time. The decor has great Grandma's touch all over it in a charming way. It is closer to the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon and Brighton ski resort as well as Solitude ski resort. In the summer, you can continue on the way and go all the way over Guardsman Pass to Deere Valley and Park City. If you are not a high maintenance fussy person and enjoy the simpler ways of life, give Huckleberry a try. It's amazing.

Very rustic.
The property was way more rustic than I expected. It is very dusty and in a bit of disrepair with a lot of dead bugs. There are 2 noisy window unit air conditioners upstairs but there is no a/c in the kitchen and living area downstairs. We stayed when it was 95 to 100 degrees and it was very hot in the house. The beds were just okay. I shared my concerns with the host who said the owner was out of town and would contact me later to discuss but they have not. The listing and pictures wete not true to the current condition of the property, maybe 5 years ago or so but not now. If you are looking for a very rustic stay, then this is for you. Also be warned that the canyon road is very busy and there is a lot of traffic noise.
First impressions of this place is it’s straight out of a fairytale! The creek in the backyard is just as amazing as the pictures show. We slept with the primary bedroom balcony door open for some cool air and natural white noise. Bonus that it’s just a quick drive away from coffee, groceries and restaurants. Our trip included excursions all through the mountains and desert, but my favorite part was just sitting on the porch swing with a beer in hand.
Amazing spot to get away and breath! This place is cozy and quaint. A little peace of heaven for sure. It's okay if you feel differently, that just means I can visit more.
The location is really nice and cozy, and we loved everything about it except the heating, which was inadequate. It was warm in the bedroom (upstairs), but cold downstairs. The heating in the family room didn't work correctly; you could only feel the heat when you were an inch away from the heater under the TV. There were two personal portable heaters, one of which worked correctly but the other made a loud noise.I was surprised that we were not supposed to use the fireplace, even though the owner had provided firewood in front of the fireplace for us to burn. The check-in book clearly stated "Do not use fireplace." Huh!!!
I don’t usually leave reviews but I had to come back to write one here! The cabin is wonderful, it was perfect for my family and I to stay overnight. We all loved the location as it feels very private which we valued when going outside to see the beautiful morning view of the mountains! The beds were comfortable & the inside was warm. We didn’t get a chance to cook in the kitchen but I did notice I couldn’t find a garbage can. It was fine though as we had trash bags of our own. I will definitely be returning to this cabin as it was a hit with my family!
