Luxury Mediterranean-Style Home with All the Extras

This Eric Miller Designed home shines with hand-crafted details including hardwood floors and stone throughout and offers all the amenities you can imagine for an ideal Carmel Getaway. A short walk from the village of Carmel-by-the-Sea and Carmel Beach, in a quiet, family neighborhood, it features amenities that you usually find at luxury hotels; a stunning private garden with a secluded patio, as well as a spa, steam room and work out room. Upon arrival you are welcomed by a charming walkway bordered by lush gardens, leading you to the ornate wrought iron door. The minute you enter the double high foyer, with its terracotta and iron details, you know you are somewhere special. The foyer opens to a well-appointed living room complete with a gas fireplace. The dining area and kitchen are nearby with wrap-around windows that fill the rooms with light. The patio and garden are accessible from the Dining/Kitchen area and is a favorite spot for morning coffee and evening bar-b-q’s. The hallway beyond the kitchen leads to three bedrooms. Two queen rooms with a shower bathroom and a Master Suite with king bed and en suite bathroom featuring double sinks and separate shower. The Master Suite has its own access to the patio area where the work-out room, spa and steam room await. This amenity-packed dream home also features a complete media room with large format TV offering cable and Apple TV and comfy sofa seating. It also boasts a wet bar and a state-of-the-art stereo system in the living areas. A bathroom with shower is located adjacent to the Media Room. The home is well-equipped including all conveniences such as washer/dryer, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, gas stove, oven and a complete kitchen. Grilling on the patio is also an option with the state-of-the-art gas grill. Wifi is available throughout the house although occasionally the broadband speed is slow for streaming.

We had a fantastic stay here for the Big Sur Marathon! The house was well appointed with everything we needed and the garden was stunning. The hot tub and steam room were a bonus after the run. Check in/check out was easy. We would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful getaway

The Place is Wonderful!!

Great Stay!

My two daughters, their husbands and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely home. We were fortunate to have good walking & beach weather most of the time, but the one day when it did rain, the cozy fireplace in the living room provided a welcoming warmth for relaxing and reading. Also, the media room provided a great place to watch the 49er game on the big screen TV!

We loved this place! -Gorgeous large kitchen -Beautiful garden -Quiet and peaceful -2 minute drive to the village -Easy check in and out -Steam room was fantastic -Owners and manager were lovely and helpful -The only downside was the shortest walk to town was down a busy road with no sidewalks, so we either drove or called Ubers that arrived in 3 minutes. All around a great stay and we would definitely stay again.

A gathering of friends

5 of us stayed at this beautiful home in Carmel. It was exactly what we needed and exactly what we expected. Well appointed and stunning in the interior plus the gardens are amazing. Checking in was easy with Charley and she communicated with me well.

The gardens are beautiful! The kitchen was very well appointed. I had a medical emergency while in Monterey. Three of us had to leave early, leaving three of our party at the house. They had a wonderful time. Charley was an immense help.

Carmel with kids

The house is fabulous and clean! Our family includes 3 small children and a pup. We’ve noted that pet friendly properties are sometimes sub par. Though we appreciate the opportunity to bring the whole family it can be disappointing. Not the case here! The property is beautiful and spotless. The location is convenient and my 5 yo had no problem with the walk to town. The Hatton house exceeds expectations.

Christmas in Carmel

Beautiful house. Very nice floor plan for family gathering. Very well stocked kitchen. The patio reminded us of Italy. It was all one level which made it easy with the elder and the little. The property also includes a spa, steam room and small gym. The check in process was easy and the house was very clean.

The home and garden were lovely, clean, and well-kept. It offered 3 comfortable sleeping rooms and 2 options for hanging out as a group. It is a pleasant 1/2 mile walk to the center of town. The owners have a separate contract to be completed beyond the standard VRBO agreements; my first experience with an additional document. It listed a series of fees which did not correlate with those itemized on the VRBO site. The owner was less than gracious about my attempt to understand the fees and the additional document (perhaps all on me since I made the error of using the "customer service" link for VRBO which offered no meaningful help).

Camel Home Extraordinaire !!

Mere words and a handful of pics can't adequately describe this extraordinary property - you must experience it to fully appreciate its superb location, spacious floor-plan, unique artwork/decor, the inviting back patio and garden area. The furnishings and bedding are top-notch affording much comfort and relaxation for the guests, the kitchen is fully stocked with cooking/dining ware to serve a large family, and the property is extremely well-maintained and cared for which allows a trouble-free stay for the renters. Compliments to the owners and the managers for ensuring that we had everything we needed for a wonderful stay in Carmel, and we look forward to a return visit in the not-so-distant future. Great location for walking into Carmel or driving to other locations. Easy off street parking for three cars. Overly stocked kitchen allowing for us to cook anything we desired. Great place for a family gathering with a secure garden for the little ones and the dog to roam. Poor internet connection so if you hope to work from your vacation spot forget it! Poor cell service. But everything else was most excellent!

Very comfortable, unique property.

3 couples, 3 bedrooms, 3 baths. Gorgeous garden and patio. The Wally to from town is steep and a good ½ mile to the edge of town. We certainly got our exercise! Great stay.

My husband and I both have very busy schedules that include lots of travel and the day-to-day requirements of running our own companies. We love returning to Carmel to rejuvenate and spend time with our family. We are vintage car enthusiasts and love to fish, hike, entertain, and spend time here unplugged from the demands of our hectic lives. This is our dream house and we are sure you will enjoy its charms as much as we do.

We have a completely separate apartment above the garage with no oversight of the garden and a separate external staircase, and occasionally whilst we have guests we need to access it to swap out suitcases between trips, or on rare occasions stay there overnight. Guests will not know we are there. We will forewarn guests if we need to access the apartment. Thank you.
