About this property

Cabin in the Pines, Artfully Renovated - Great Views - Quaint Green Mtn Falls...

Cabin has a gourmet kitchen (soapstone countertops/farm sink, induction cooktop), wide plank oak floors, and art/woodwork/metal sculpture/stained glass from local artisans. Renovations completed in 2016, with all new appliances (including washer/dryer combo unit), and new furniture. Gas fireplace and antique lighting. Free WiFi, Cable TV with loads of channels, DVR, and Netflix. Sleeps a MAXIMUM of four: king bed and sky light for star gazing in master, two twin xl that can be converted to king in 2nd BR upon request. Enjoy the fabulous views and garden from the pine tree shaded deck or the intimate covered patio out back.

A local craftsman, Dale White, did an amazing transformation, using beetle kill pine (blue stain) on the ceilings and built-ins. The home is only 750 square feet, but it feels much larger with the vaulted ceilings, open floor plan, and various built-ins. The cabinets are quarter sawn oak, and the kitchen table base is from an old boiler. The bathroom vanity is made from ancient bristlecone pine, with a soapstone sink/counter. I feel like the cabin itself is art, and I love being in it. I hope you will too.

Cabin is blocks from hiking trails, swimming pool, Green Mtn Falls lake, and restaurants. Green Mountain Falls is a quaint and quiet town. This cabin is a serene home base for touring the Air Force Academy, The Broadmoor, Pikes Peak, Manitou Springs, and many more of the nearby sites. The Pikes Peak region is a wonderful place for fishing, biking, and hiking. It's a dreamy place. Come and stay!

This was our family’s favorite stay yet!! The cabin is beautifully appointed with upgrades throughout! They have thought of all the details- from the soft sheets to the nice dishes to “just in case” medicine to phone chargers on the nightstands! Then the homemade apple pie was a welcome surprise after a day of travel! I messaged Lisa asking if she, by chance, had a humidifier because we were worried about the dry air with my son who just had sinus surgery, and she provided not 1 but 2! Her book of recommendations was very helpful! The view from the deck is stunning! I definitely recommend!!

This little “Cabin in the Pines” was perfect for our family. We had the best week, and Lisa made us feel so welcome and everything we needed was at the cabin. We have three small kids, and so she even had a hiking backpack and stroller to help accommodate our trip as well!! We will definitely be coming back! We couldn’t recommend this cabin enough.

We had a fantastic stay! The cabin was very clean, well stocked and felt very homey. There wasn’t a detail missed! Lots of cozy blankets, large bath towels, quality shampoo and conditioner, toys, games, etc. We were welcomed to this home away from home with a personal message and homemade pie! We were able to reach the host with ease and always received quick responses. Thank you Lisa for a very memorable stay in your beautiful home!

10/10! You need to rent this house for your family trip. This was one of the nicest, most well stocked, cozy homes we’ve ever rented. First, Lisa was especially prompt in answering all communication. She’s so thoughtfully provided anything we might need - games and toys, kitchen stocked as if it were my own, pantry staples, abundant supply of towels, bed linens, toiletries, and much more. Everything was impeccably clean and comfortable. The house is situated in a quaint little town walking distance to a coffee shop, a couple of restaurants, playground and pond. The Pantry was our favorite and a must stop in our book! The view from the porch was breathtaking, You’re nestled right into the mountainside with beautiful peaks right there. It was less than 20 minutes to many major attractions like Garden of the Gods, Manitou Springs, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and Cave of the Winds. We found an amazing trail (Rainbow Gulch) in Pike’s Nt’l Forest 15 minutes away and lots of great food options within 10 minutes. It felt like the perfect spot location wise for anything you’d want to do in the CO Springs area.I just can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed our time here. Not only was the area fun but it was so wonderful coming back to unwind after an adventure filled day. This was our first time visiting Colorado for our family, (including one 5 year old boy) and it won’t be our last. We’re already looking forward to our next trip to Cabin in the Pines! Thanks Lisa!!

Cabin In the Pines checks every box! Every amenity was there! We chose not to cook there but all the utensils and condiments were there. Had a nice variety of KCups to choose from and creamer too. The towels and linens were excellent and toiletries etc were too. Had a modern LG washer/dryer combo with detergent that refreshed our previous day’s wardrobe. It’s really quiet and quite beautiful in Green Mountain Falls.I had breakfast twice at The Pantry. On a Sunday morning you’ll want to go early and get a table in the back garden area. Had an inside table on Monday. Food, coffee and service was excellent.Following the recommendation of our host, we had dinner at Casa Verdes on Saturday night and it was excellent! On Sunday night we’d made a reservation to sit outside on the creekside patio at Wines of Colorado. What I saw on their website matched up with what they served. I had the Bacon Wrapped Bison Meatloaf and my wife had their unique Chicken Pot Pie! Both it the spot! But that’s not all… these folks make a world class Carrot Cake and they serve it big! We had a to go box and ate on it 3 days!Back to our cabin, our host, Lisa, was great. Besides exceeding our every expectation she must be what a friend told me a “PIE SNOB”!When we arrived on the counter was a freshly baked homemade deep dish Apple Pie made with freshly sliced apples and she had a fresh pint of HogenDas Vanilla in the freezer! Thank you Lisa for making our stay amazing!

We loved our stay at Cabin in the Woods. It was beautiful and clean, had everything we needed in terms of amenities, and it's location was the perfect place for our adventures to various locations around Green Mountain Falls. The property provided various areas so our family could spread out when needed while providing a great space for us to spend together. The property manager was AMAZING and ensured our stay was enjoyable. We also took advantage of nearby hikes and the community pool all in walking distance.

I truly enjoy sharing this charming mountain town with my guests. My gifts are creating comfortable and inviting spaces indoors and out. I also love hiking with my two dogs, gardening, baking, and visiting National Parks and seeing family at my Chicago roots. I have been a resident of our wonderful town since 1989.

Why they chose this property

Last year we purchased the cabin from our adopted Parents/Grandparents/Neighbors, after they could no longer come to the mountains to escape the Kansas heat and enjoy the mountains. The cabin was sentimental to both my two children and myself, and we couldn't bear to see anyone else own the cabin. So we decided to renovate it and host guests in the cabin. We hope we have made Gary and Phyl proud, and are as welcoming to you in this cabin as they were to us all those 28 years.

What makes this property unique

The Cabin has always been really charming on the outside. The deck with it's expansive mountain views is so relaxing. The covered patio off the kitchen with rock table and views of the garden is very intimate. The locals are kind and friendly, and I love my neighbors!

After we bought it from Gary and Phyl, we sought to make the inside as great as the outside. Local artist Doyle Svenby's metal work is on the kitchen wall and his metal art sculpture is out back. I've really enjoyed creating the gardens. It's my therapy. Martha Wheeler, has her pencil drawings displayed. And Dana Keys has a beautiful stained glass window in one of the bedroom doors. I feel like the cabin itself is art, and I love being in it. I hope you will too.
