Very nice and comfortable stay! This charming guest house was in a quiet neighborhood and had all the comforts of home. Comfortable beds, plenty of room for my family of 4, and attentive host. We would definitely stay here again.

Comfy, cute stay

Chamin's home was wonderful. The place was spotless and the beds had the softest sheets. Highly recommend staying at Chamin's if you're in San Rafael!

This was a great spot for our stay in San Rafael! We loved that we could walk to shops and restaurants. Street parking was easy. Kitchen is well provisioned. The host was friendly and responsive. We appreciated all the amenities provided for young children!

Perfectly charming

We enjoyed our stay in this very charming house in a very quiet and parking friendly street in San Rafael. Everything was very clean and the bedding some of the softest I have ever seen in a rental place. The hosts were very gracious and helpful.

We had such a great experience staying here! Chamin was incredibly responsive and accommodating. She let us check in early and didn’t rush us at checkout, which made our trip so much smoother. The home itself is adorable, spotless, and very well stocked with everything you could possibly need. The location is perfect — easy to find, close to everything, yet quiet and peaceful. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Highly recommend this place and would definitely stay again!

Comfortable and Convenient

This listing is exactly how it’s described. Chamin was a great host and provided everything we could possibly require. Location is great. Walking distance to shops and restaurants and a short drive to the highway. Felt very welcomed and comfortable during our stay.

Wonderful experience!

Chamin is a wonderfulful and gracious host, and maintains a charming rental property. The unit is located on a quiet street within walking distance of downtown, where there are several delightful cafes, shops, and restaurants. The unit is tastefully decorated with everything you need and the beds are very comfortable. The host went out of her way to make us feel welcomed and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a great stay at this home. It was very clean and had a charming old Hollywood California bungalow feel; high ceilings, beautiful character, and a warm, inviting atmosphere that felt straight out of films.The decor was tasteful without being cluttered, and the home had everything we needed. We especially appreciated the thoughtful touches like providing toilet paper, shampoo, granola bars and coffee, which made settling in easy without an immediate grocery run.The neighborhood is lovely, quiet and very walkable. It was easy to stroll to nearby restaurants and shops in San Rafael, which made the location especially convenient.It’s an older home, which really adds to its charm and character- just something to keep in mind that some features, like the bathroom and lighting, reflect that vintage style. It didn’t impact our stay at all, but helpful to know if you’re used to more modern setups.Overall, a cozy, character-filled place in a fantastic location. We’d definitely stay again.

The property is quaint and ideally located in Marin however interior finishes which contribute to comfort were lacking. The shower and bath need repair, the sheets were old and flannel, no outlets in the main bedroom, dimly lit bedroom. I fell down the stairs because the railing is not up to code. The hosts were nice.

David thank you for taking the time to write a review. I’m sorry we weren’t given the opportunity to address some of these issues while you were here. There are two outlets in the bedroom, one by the bed and one behind the dresser. There is a bed side lamp and an overhead light. Maybe the dimmer switch on the overhead wasn’t up all the way which made it seem dark. The flannel sheets, down comforter and pottery barn quilt are the winter sheets when it’s cold. I’m sorry you felt they were old. I’m terribly sorry to hear you fell. We’ve not had an issue with the railing in the past and have the same railing on our side of the duplex. Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention.

Sweet duplex in a lovely neighborhood! Neighbors walking their dogs … surrounded by trees on a quiet residential street. We were visiting local family and the home and location were a perfect spot. Our family of three was comfortable in each room - great bedding - and my teen appreciated his balcony and desk setup. The kitchen is fully equipped and the bathroom amenities are well stocked! You will enjoy the private entrance and easy parking, as well as the easy walk to shops and restaurants. Grocery is also very close by. Note that there is a steep, winding staircase to the upstairs bedrooms and one bathroom. Great communication leading up to and during our visit - instructions are very clear. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return!
