The owners were very kind. We had a lot of trouble due to a storm and they helped us out even though we got in very late. They are rustic cabins with amenities like a full stove, microwave, smart TV, and coffee maker. The area is quiet and private. It was a last minute stay for us for a work meeting. The meeting was cancelled so we hung out in the cabin the whole time. They do have picnic tables and a fire ring outside which would have been fun if it had been warmer. There's a lake and it looks like a nice place to go boating or fishing. They also have a boat rental place and little store that sells fishing supplies. It's not overly fancy, you do need to bring your own shampoo, soaps, cooking oil and coffee but otherwise it's very cozy and we would stay there again.
The cabin was clean, the bathroom toilet was on shimmies, and the toilet seat did not go all the way down. The handle on the screen door fell off the first time we opened the door. It was a little chilly when we stayed there, and there was only one space heater in one of the bedrooms for the entire cabin. We were doing other things in the area, so we only stayed there for one night just to sleep, so it is hard to give it a true rating. We did not use the kitchen or the living room area, just one bedroom and the bathroom. I thought the price was a little high for what it was though.
Beware before you book. We got there and were told she had double-booked, leaving us nowhere to stay. Unfortunately, VRBO isn't the easiest to reach. I still haven't received a refund for a place I didn't even stay at, and VRBO doesn't even have a customer service email.
Outside not exactly what we were expecting, cabin was okay kitchen missing a few things but made do with what was there. Bedrooms looked to be somewhat under construction (screws sticking out, things laying around maybe wall decor or something missing). Beds and pillows very nice was comfortable. Host was very nice and answered my questions and such. Very noisy and loud on Saturday night into morning hours, maybe the time of year when we stayed. Overall decent place may stay again in a different cabin.
The cabin was clean and the beds/pillows were very comfortable! It was perfect for our overnight stay. It was close to Serpent Mound which was the point of our visit. If fishing is your thing, this cabin is perfect! It’s right across the road from the marina and the check in area is in a bait shop. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The owners did a good job updating this cabin. It was apparent that there had been termites in the past from some damage to the walls, but the issue was taken care of. My only complaint is there were no doors for the bedrooms. It looked like there may have been curtains hung for privacy at some point. This may be a show stopper for some, but didn’t bother us.
