A wonderful place to forget the craziness of the city. A lovely cabin, the hot tub in winter, and the views of the icy lake and pine trees create a unique contrast. The sunrise through the clouds this morning was beautiful. The host was always attentive and very kind, recommending places to eat and visit since it was our first time there. We will definitely return. They even prepared a welcome surprise for my daughter's birthday. We had a fantastic time.

Family’s like yours is why we opened our cabin!
We love that our cabin was a blessing to you!
This is the coziest little cabin ever! So cute and definitely just what we needed! The only thing is that only a mini fridge is provided and no stove/burner but they do provide a hot pan. It's a great getaway and an amazing place to get snowed in!

Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re thrilled that you and your husband thought the cabin was "just what you needed for your getaway"!
We truly appreciate your feedback on the kitchenette setup as well — we changed "small fridge/freezer" to "mini fridge/freezer" and added "no stovetop" to the kitchenette description.
We want to ensure our listing accurately represents our cabin and sets the correct expectations for our guests. Thanks again!
You and your hubby are welcome back anytime!
This charming cabin was perfectly located—close enough to all the best spots, yet far enough away to enjoy peace and quiet without traffic or crowds. It was the ideal winter getaway. We loved the dining area, the views of the bridge, and the property itself. The bathroom was a highlight, especially the jacuzzi tub and shower. It was exactly what we hoped for: a cozy, romantic, and deeply relaxing cabin that felt both secluded and conveniently close to everything. Our January winter stay was absolutely stunning, with the main towns uncrowded and serene. The waterfalls, lighthouses, and lakes we visited were beautifully frozen, adorned with translucent ice and snow—truly breathtaking. What an unforgettable experience, right in the heart of it all. This beautiful, charming winter cabin exceeded our expectations. 10/10—thank you for allowing us to visit.

We’re so happy you 2 enjoyed your time up here!
Very happy it was a blessing to you both.
We choose this stay because of it's proximity to Mackinac Island, being on the water, & the hot tub. It also needed to accomodate 2 couples & our adult son. We had planned that each couple would take a bedroom & my son would take the murphy bed or couch. When we arrived, I was very confused as there were spaces that were not in the photos listed. I hadn't realized until getting there & comparing the photos that the ones from "bedroom 2" & "living room" were the same space. The second bedroom is actually a loft space that opens below to the entryway. No door or privacy for changeing. This would have been a big problem if the other couple would have not backed out. I see now that the photos have been updated and show a different image for the second bedroom & also photos to include the metal spiral stairs. There is a dining table, but it is in the corner in the entryway. The space ended up working for us but it was a close call. The yard space is beautiful. And the bathoom is oversized. As I mentioned, the hot tub was one of the reasons we chose this place. We planned to relax in it after a long day of hiking & biking. But the hot tub ended up right outside the host's side of the cabin. Right out their windows. It made us feel uncompfortable. Esspecially as we had already run into Ed a couple of times since arriving. He was very nice but we had expected more separation from the host & more privacy. We would not stay here again unless we had the property to ourselves & privacy.

Thank you SO much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and detailed review. We truly appreciate you choosing our cabin for your Mackinaw getaway and are glad the space ultimately worked for your group.
We’re very sorry for the confusion regarding the layout and photos. We're very familiar with the Airbnb listing setup, but not so much with VRBO. After receiving your feedback, we updated the listing photos and descriptions to better show the loft-style second bedroom, the open layout, and the spiral staircase so future guests have an accurate understanding.
Regarding the hot tub, we’re sorry it didn’t feel as private as you had hoped. We want all guests to feel fully comfortable and relaxed, and we understand how this may have affected your experience. We always aim to give our guests space, and your feedback will help us continue to improve how we navigate that balance.
We truly appreciate your kind words about the property and your honest feedback about what didn’t meet your expectations. We wish you many wonderful future trips — whether with us again if the setup meets your needs, or elsewhere that’s the perfect fit for you!
