We had a lovely stay! The house was immaculately clean and well organized. It was also old, charming and quirky. For us, this lands in the plus column. We enjoyed the easy walk to the river, the friendly neighbors, the back deck and the hot tub. Even though it was hot during the day, the temps cooled at night. We will be back!

This cabin is tucked into a great, quiet neighborhood with two walkable river accesses. We loved the backyard and the fact that the back doors open to fresh air the whole time. We also loved the historical charm of this cabin. It's a great place to stay for all seasons of the year, with beautiful old fireplaces. Walls are pretty thin, but if you're with a close friend or family, it's nothing you wouldn't already be used to.

Great forrest location but only a few min drive into town. Near Johnson’s Beach, other Russian River access points, and Armstrong Redwoods. House was clean, stocked with most essentials, and has old style charm with a cabin feel. Backyard is beautiful and hot tub was clean and so relaxing! Beds are decent but pillows are terrible. Because it’s old, the floors are super squeaky, the walls are thin, and the bedroom doors are impossible to close. The “wall” that divides the two bedrooms is more like a partition because it has a gap near the shared closet so you can’t have lights on without it shining into the other room. The couch is odd with the feet in the middle, so it tips forward constantly. There was no hand soap anywhere, no Kleenex, and there’s no sponge yet they require you to wash dishes at check out (no dishwasher). It would also be nice to have either foil, plastic wrap, or sandwich bags.

Bay Tree Cottage is a lovely little place to stay! Great location within walking distance to the river and just outside of downtown Guernville. The home was clean, spacious, and we were able to comfortably have our elderly dog with us. It’s a fun house that you can tell has been well maintained in spite of it being an older house. I would definitely stay there again.

This cottage was adorable and had everything we needed. It's definitely best for people sharing a room or a small family that doesn't mind hearing everything that happens in the cottage. The property was clean, charming, unique and comfortable. My dog loved it here too. You have to crate them if you leave and that wasn't listed anywhere online, so we didn't bring our crate. Luckily, the area is SUPER dog friendly, so we were able to just bring him with us places. It does get pretty warm in the house during the late summer afternoons. We had all windows open during the night and morning to cool it down, but it's best just to take off and not be in the house from about 4-6pm. Not the worst thing to have to do in such a beautiful area. We would definitely come and stay here again.

Our hosts Sherry and Russian River Vacation homes were wonderful. However, the cottage and bed are far too old and need to be renovated. All the wooden floors creak loudly when you walk on them, the wood wall separating the two bedrooms is not flush, so you can see light from the other bedroom. You can also hear everything happening in the adjacent room, including snoring. So of the latches on doors are no longer present and so have to be dead bolted instead. This property needs new beds and new walls. Otherwise, it's an ok cottage for guerneville.
