We have full water access April – October of each year. Between November-March, the water level is controlled by the Lake Martin Dam and the levels decrease. The property will not accommodate a boat to be docked during this time. There is no water located at the dock during winter pool, but the creek can still be accessed for fishing and kayaking.
The water is shallow in this part of the creek (only 4 feet @ dock during full pool). No diving is allowed from the dock. If bringing in a boat to the dock, please make sure you stay to the far left of the creek coming in and stay to the far right of the creek going out as that is the deepest part. Also, make sure you heed the buoys in the area as they indicate shallow water levels.

The cabin was cozy. Due to photos we were led to think the water was nearby. As my husband and I are in our 70’s, it was not easy access. We never got to enjoy the water. Disappointed.
Check the bedding, Please I recieved some serious bites that I never had before and now have swollen to sores. Please check the bedding for bugs in between visitors David Glass and the dock was nice but for a big guy the canoe was too small and I really couldn't get out on the lake to fish appropriately.l understand its for kids and the dock maybe for swimming but you advertised fishing and I had to find a nearby bridge to satisfy my fishing desire.

Hi David,
Thank you for letting us know. I’m sorry to hear about the bites and the discomfort you experienced. We take concerns like this very seriously and will have our housekeeping team thoroughly inspect the bedding and sleeping areas immediately.
I have received quite a few bites myself lately just from being outside, so my hope is that is the case instead of the former.
I also appreciate your feedback regarding the canoe and fishing access. We’ll take your comments into consideration as we continue to improve the guest experience.
Thank you for bringing these matters to our attention.

The cabin was a short walk to the lake. The dock was perfect for hanging out and swimming all day. Kayaks were available and we used them for a little while (brought our own life jackets). The cabin was cozy and had everything we needed. We would love to come back someday.
Overall our stay was ok for the price. Make sure you bring extra towels. There are only a few there. The cabin lacked cleaness and things were broken. When we arrived the microwave still had the previous guests food in it, and the drier was full of linens. I assume the cleaner forgot to check or was in a hurry. The place was very dusty. There was trash under the main bed. The firepit outside also had the previous guests trash in it. The propane grill was disgusting. Tje cabin needs a deep cleaning. I assume the broken things such as the blinds and ceiling fans are from guests treating them poorly. The fans inside and outside need to be replaced. However we did enjoy getting to walk to the lake. The owner had plenty of canoes, kayaks, etc for guests to enjoy. She even had a fishing pole that guests could use. We chose this cabin to stay at Lake Martin and also close proximity to the Argentina soccer game in Auburn.

Here’s a professional, gracious response that acknowledges the concerns without being defensive:
Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the lake access, kayaks, canoes, fishing equipment, and the convenient location for both Lake Martin and Auburn events.
We sincerely apologize that the cabin was not presented to the standard we strive to provide. The issues you mentioned regarding cleanliness, the microwave, dryer, firepit, and grill have been shared with our cleaning and maintenance teams for immediate attention. We appreciate you bringing these items to our attention, as they do not reflect the experience we want our guests to have.
Thank you for choosing to stay with us, and we hope to have the opportunity to provide a much better experience in the future.
Loved our stay at the cabin situated steps away from the lake. Very clean and homey. Our only complaint is not with the cabin, VRBO or area….it is with the Lake Tours that required 3 people to book a tour. There were only two of us. Please communicate that to them!

It was very quaint and had the basics covered for the most part. Not a long walk to the lake at all, basically across the street and through a yard. Nice for a couple's getaway or small family. Adequate furnishings all around.
