We were accused of entering the wrong door code entrance. Although, we previously entered the correct code 3 times when unloading the car. However, we tried that code after dining out, but regrettably the code refused to open the door - we were locked out! The Vrbo assistant (on the phone) talked us through using the same code sequence - but to no avail. After one hour in the cold, the host sent a lock-smith who arrived verbally aggressive and rude. My sister said he used a screwdriver NOT a code to enter and kept shouting at me (& into his phone), saying I used the wrong code! Within two hours I received a bill from the host demanding 185, ignoring the fact I included damage insurance protection, when previously paying the bill in full. For three days I refused to pay this constant 185 demand. I contacted Vrbo at least 3 times to resolve this harassment, they said they were waiting for a reply from the host. It was only when I pointed out the Accidental insurance protection previously paid, did they advise me the payment demand for 185 was not mandatory! Regrettably, this dispute left me feeling vulnerable and insecure - plus the WiFi connection was also questionable! That said, the good things about this apartment (not including being above a marijuana dispensary & loud nightclub next door - I would have declined had I known before arriving) it is clean, well appointed & has very comfortable beds, plus it’s walking distance to the shops & train station.
