About this property
History Meets Luxury - Dreamy Sweeney Cottage
Found in the heart of Leiper’s Fork Village, Sweeney Cottage is a beautifully restored 1892 home that invites you to experience the charm of Tennessee’s most vibrant creative community. With its unique history and stylish updates, this cottage is the perfect base for artists, musicians, couples, and friends looking to immerse themselves in the village’s artistic energy. Enjoy local shops, live music, and nearby dining, or simply relax and take in the village vibe from the porch or fire pit.
Built in 1892 for the Carl Sweeney family, Sweeney Cottage is filled with the echoes of those who have lived, loved, and left their mark here over the years. The home was thoughtfully renovated with a focus on preserving its legacy, while incorporating modern conveniences. This charming 2-bed, 1-bath gem, with its rich history and timeless character, is perfect for up to four guests. The primary bedroom features a queen bed, while a second queen bed is tucked away in a lofted space at the top of the stairs, separated from the primary bedroom by a beautifully preserved original door.
The chic kitchen, equipped with a mint-green Smeg refrigerator and a Bertazzoni Italian stove, is perfect for preparing home-cooked meals. The antique farm table in the dining room is surrounded by vintage décor that tells a story of its own. The bathroom boasts a deep soaking tub and a handheld shower, as well as a stunning brass console sink. The original 1892 entry doors are painted a calming pink in contrast to the original black screen doors.
Relax in the sunlit sitting areas, strum on two Gibson guitars while studying the historic photo wall in the music room, or take in the view from the porch, where you can people-watch and enjoy the charming village atmosphere. The backyard fire pit is ideal for stargazing or gathering around for s’mores after a day of exploring. Whether you’re here for inspiration, relaxation, or connection, Sweeney Cottage offers a welcoming space for it all.

Absolutely loved staying here. The place was perfect for my wife and me and our weekend getaway to the Franklin area. Very convenient to everything locally. We will definitely stay again…hopefully even longer next time!
We had a fantastic stay at this charming cottage in Leiper’s Fork, Tennessee. The location truly couldn’t have been better, everything you’d want is just a short walk or drive away. We loved being so close to a fun speakeasy with live music, and starting each morning with an incredible breakfast at the Country Boy was a highlight of the trip. There always seemed to be something going on in the evenings, which gave the whole area a great energy without ever feeling overwhelming. One of my favorite parts was morning jogs, beautiful scenery and such a relaxing way to start the day.The cottage itself is older, but that’s part of its charm. It’s full of character and has a cozy, lived-in feel that made it easy to settle in and enjoy. Plus, being just about 25 minutes from Franklin made it convenient for anything else we wanted to explore.Overall, a wonderful stay, we’d absolutely come back again.
we had the best time in the dreamiest sweeney cottage! location is perfect, we had fun at the winery & dinner at fox and locke. the house was beyond cozy and full of charm and history. can't wait to come back again!
This house is nestled in the perfect spot in location in Leiper’s Fork. The property manager went above and beyond to make our stay extra special. We will definitely be back!
This little cottage was the perfect spot to celebrate my 60th birthday weekend with friends. 🎉 It was so close to my party at the Tornado Room that we basically just floated over there.
The place feels like stepping back in time in the best way — the kind of porch where you have to sit in a rocking chair and people-watch for hours. I absolutely loved it.
The beds were super comfortable, there’s a Keurig for your morning coffee (very important ☕️), and the owner even left the sweetest welcome note which was such a nice touch.
Bonus: the spa right next door is amazing… very convenient after a weekend of birthday celebrating.
Highly recommend for a little Tennessee getaway — even if you actually live in Tennessee-like me.
We absolutely love Leiper’s Fork and could have stayed in this cottage for weeks. It has everything you need and is so relaxing, clean & quaint. I’ve stayed here multiple times with my family and was lucky to bring a few of my best friends along this time around. We had the best experience!
Leiper's Fork is a charming small town with lots of personality and things to do. I wish we had the opportunity to stay longer but we were just passing through overnight. The house was very clean, everything was in order, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
This is a great property. In the middle of the Leiper’s Fork Village. Easy to walk to shops and dining. Absolutely amazing.

Charming cottage!
We really enjoyed our stay at Sweeney Cottage in Leiper’s Fork. Cottage was well appointed and convenient to Franklin and Nashville. Puckett’s Grocery is a must do on your visit. Great live music and southern comfort food in a historic intimate venue.
