The short answer is this is not the apartment listed. It is close but the kitchen has a different layout, the furniture is different, (and older) and there is no tv in the bedroom. The pull out couch does not pull out- it should but our theory is maybe it has a mattress top and then squeezed in. Two adults could not pull out. The original address given does not exist and is a 10 minute walk from the actual address. The actual location is fairly nice, safe and close to subway and good restaurants.
The area is extremely accessible with tons of places to exploring walking or via public transportation. Check in/out process is painless and provided a lot of security during my stay.
Communication was excellent. The apartment was okay but it’s extremely hot and no way to control the heat. We saw a roach on the wall (yuck!), parking was horrendous, and it would have been nice to have at least some condiments and niceties like a box of tissues, washcloths and hand towels. There was a fan that we had to keep running on high to be able to sleep. Not worth the money.
We loved this 1-bedroom apartment in the heart of Brooklyn. Street parking was free and easy and we had a great time vintage shopping and dining in between concerts. Highly recommended!

Thank you so much for your kind review, it was my pleasure hosting you and you are alway welcome back. Hope to see you again in the near future
This location worked well because it was close to our family member. There are a few places to eat that aren’t too far to get to on foot. The subway was close so that gave us easy access to other NYC locations. It was on the ground floor which was a real plus.

The apartment was freezing when we arrived. The host did not answer our repeated emails and calls for several hours. Eventually we found out by talking to a man in the hallway that he was fixing the boiler, and heat started trickling in slowly. Unfortunately, brown water also started trickling down from the living room ceiling. Multiple leaks started and it looked like cracks were forming in the ceiling. We eventually reached the host, who told us it was likely leaking from the apartment above us and they were trying to reach the person who lived there. We did not believe it was livable and were concerned about the integrity of the ceiling, so we left and cancelled the reservation.
The place was simply amazing it was spotless and had plenty of room no fan and heat pumps hot! But overall I would definitely come back here again thank you Sarah!

Overall impression? We'll be back. Our stay was great, even though getting there was less than great. The only minor issue with it is there was no place to hang dress clothes. There were no washcloths. Other than that, it was a great stay.

Pros:1. You can get to trains pretty easy 2. The couch can turn into bed3. The shower is strongCons:1. The heat was turned on wayyy to high and there’s no way to adjust it2. The bathroom had a heat pipe right next to the toilet which if you didn’t know or wasn’t careful would have suffered a 3rd degree burn so it is a huge hazard, also considering it is literally right next to toilet3. The show gel provided was less than 2 had a price tag on it, that is so cheap 4. There is no working smoke detector which is a violation of any housing code and is a fire hazard5. The place just looks really worn out and no effort was ever put into making it clean and nice6. We found other people’s hair in our bed Overall it was sufficient for what it was but not worth the price, considering how little effort was put in for already pretty beat up living conditions.
The apartment was perfect for what we needed. We were out and about quite a bit so we did not need a big place, but there was still plenty of room for both of us. The location was great, but be prepared for noise-not the owner's fault. Between hearing conversations from people sitting on the front steps to lots of door slamming as people entered and exited their apartments in the building, it was pretty noisy even at bedtime. (It was a holiday weekend). Things did calm down though and it got pretty quiet for sleeping. I think it is just NYC and it's a crowded palace, so you hear everything that is going on. Still, it was a goods place to stay-near restaurants and about a 10 minute walk from the subway. Neighborhood is pretty and I felt very safe there. Would stay there again!

There is a reason this place is cheap. It’s kind of dingy and dirty and had a cockroach problem. We contacted the host about the roaches. She came out to spray but the place thick was poison afterwards. We didn’t feel comfortable staying in these conditions and asked for a partial refund but she would only give a 100 credit. Save your money and go somewhere else. I wouldn’t recommend it. The only thing that was nice about our stay was early check in and the location but that’s it.
Overall, a good place to stay and a great location in Brooklyn. Owner was very responsive. When I contacted her about not having hand or face towels in the room, she had some sent the next day along with a box fan because the room was unusually hot due to a heat wave in NYC.The only a/c unit is in the back bedroom with no a/c in the front room, so it was unbearably hot until I got the fan to push cooler air up front. Also, the a/c is hidden behind a curtain which you have to ball up to be able to use the a/c but that allows light in from the back alley. (see photos). The building is quiet with some dogs that barked rarely during the day. There was an occasional marijuana smell in the hallway and one night there was an overwhelmingly strong marijuana smell coming from the back alley that blew in through the a/c unit for over an hour. The apartment was clean but could use a few touches. Both front windows were unlocked and there was a 2X4 sitting on the windowsill. Two light fixtures were bare and missing a light bulb, and there did not appear to be any smoke detectors. (See pictures). Internet and TV worked great! The water pressure was strong and the hot water stayed hot. Another note: there are no 3-way electrical sockets except for the power strip behind the TV in the front room. Parking wasn't too much of a problem but was a challenge late at night. There were no cabinets, hangars or closets to store personal effects.Overall though I'd stay here again.
