About this property
Super Charming 1-bedroom apartment 25 minutes from Charlottesville
Twenty-five easy minutes east of Charlottesville off 64, this spacious, cool, retro-feel apartment is in an above-ground basement of a stately country home. Located near Zion Crossroads on 27 acres, it has a beautiful view of the mountains and a horse farm across the street. You'll have a private entrance from the side yard and plenty of space to park. Available on weekdays only, or as part of booking my whole house (contact me), it is a perfect writer or work retreat space. It has great high-speed internet and many choices for streaming content. The space is very private and extremely quiet with minimal interaction with the owner who occupies the house upstairs. Discounts for four-night stays: Monday check-in through Friday check-out.

About the host
Hosted by Lee Knapp

I am a newly retired public school history teacher who has been hosting this house for a dozen years. I also run a small art business from my basement called grammarstuff dot com. I have three grown sons and two adorable grandsons.
Why they chose this property
This property is a dream. The view of the blue mountains across the street and the dozen or so horses never disappoints. Out back is a very quiet retreat where you can just relax and hear yourself think. It is also ten minutes from groceries and supplies and 25 minutes from fun Charlottesville and 40 from a huge shopping area west of Richmond. All highway driving. The best of all worlds.
What makes this property unique
My house is filled with very personal items I have inherited or collected over many years of "junque" shopping. It's a new house (2006) with all of the amenities, yet you feel like you are in a grandma's house, because you are! Because I am! The location is also great.
