Roberta Heights In Oakdale Park holiday lettings

We’ve been travelling from the uk for over 25 years to Florida , and first time in ormand by the sea . Loved the checkin process which wasn’t obtrusive with somebody meeting you . Beautiful property with everything you could want , apart from a table in the back yard maybe if you want to sit and eat outside like we did one evening. The proximity to the beach was what did it for us , out the door and on the beach in less than a minute , fabulous ! The neighbourhood is very safe and everybody says hi . Crossing the busy road we thought would be a problem , but all the cars stop and let you , go , something that would never happen in the uk ! There’s a great publix up the road for all your supermarket shop requirements . We wished we had stayed longer , and we will most certainly be back. The hosts were quick to respond when we had an issue with the electrics tripping out , when you plug more than two items in at once, which is a common occurrence ( we thought the storm knocked it out) , maybe a notice displayed telling us that would have helped and stopped us worrying !! All in all it had everything we needed , loved the beach buggy to transport the chairs , cooler , towels umbrella etc to the beach , saved our arms . We didn’t use the various eateries , as we had a car and drove further afield but the area had plenty . In a nut shell , stay here it’s a ten out of ten property , and so is the area . We will be back for longer next time , clean , well furnished.

Condo is extremely clean, well equipped and great location for us. We did quite a lot of cooking during the month we were there and had everything we needed. It's within walking distance of a Publix, Dunkin Donuts and several bars and restaurants. The view of the ocean from the condo and its balcony is amazing. Condo is right on the beach so access for beach walking, fishing, etc. is easy. As an added bonus, during the month we stayed we saw 3 nighttime rocket launches from Cape Canaveral from the beach. We are returning again for a month stay in January and can't wait to get back.

Gordon and Cathy were very helpful and the house was presented in good order and clean throughout. They were also helpful during our stay with additional information and assistance. The reason though we would not award higher is the fact we rented a beach front house to have that experience and hear the ocean. This is not possible as the big glazed doors in the main reception are locked shut and also cable tied together. None of the windows open and we were told firmly that all other doors must remain shut at all times. This means you have to either spend the whole time either locked inside with the air-con on or all be outside with all doors and windows to remain shut. This does not lend itself to making an enjoyable family experience. I understand that its their home and they wish to keep it the way they want, but this should be made much clearer on the description as we would not have booked if we had known this.
