About this property

Wildcat Polly ~ Tiny but Wild Unique tiny home in Durango, Colorado

Wildcat Polly is a welcoming home away from home for anyone wanting to experience tiny home living. She’s fully suited with a shower, bath and laundry. Her kitchen has all the amenities to cook a fine meal for hungry adventurers. Live within your comfort zone with AC or heat depending on the time of year. When you’re ready to crash she accommodates with a queen bed in one loft and a twin bed in the other. Watch a movie on the convertible couch or the sunset and the stars from the front patio. She's got something for everyone and packs a lot of punch in her small frame.

The space
Wildcat Polly, our sweet little tiny house on wheels resides in Wildcat Canyon ten minutes west of downtown Durango, Colorado. Out here you will find room to breathe with views of Carbon Mountain, which hovers above gorgeous Lake Nighthorse (only five minutes from Polly’s front door). Bring your SUP, kayak, schooner, fishing pole or your boat and park it on the land! Don’t have water toys? No problem, head to Nighthorse anyway and play on the Wibit, rent a toy or just have a picnic and chill on the beach!

Want more than just lake time? You’ll have front door access to a renowned road biking loop, you’ll be a short 20 minute drive to La Plata Canyon and the mountains and waterfalls that await you there! The famous Mesa Verde is just over an hour away. Durango offers endless outdoor activities like mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing, river sports, skiing and more! And everything is within a quick trip.

Wildcat Polly can technically sleep 4, but unless two of those four are tiny people, it's probably more comfortable for 2 people. The queen bed is super cozy, but remember it is up in a loft. Please watch your head. The twin bed is also very comfortable, also in a loft and can sleep a short adult or a child that you trust not to squirm. The couch converts into a bed as well. It is perfect for another child or short adult. A tall adult would have to sleep at a diagonal. There is bedding for the beds, but if you plan on someone sleeping on the couch, please let us know ahead of time and we'll leave extra sheets, blankets and pillows.

Wildcat Polly's kitchen is equipped with appliances, dishes and utensils (gas stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator and freezer). Please bring what you need to prepare your favorite meals. We leave fresh eggs for every guest and they do not need to be refrigerated. If you wash them, please put them in the refrigerator. If you need more, let us know!

The water is on a well and depending on the season, the quality will vary. It is safe to shower, wash dishes and brush your teeth with. We have an RO (reverse osmosis) faucet, but it pours slowly so there with be some drinking water in the refrigerator as well.

We have a grill and a fire pit for our guests to use on the patio. Please be extra cautious with any fire you build and also be aware that we have neighbors and noise travels far in Wildcat Canyon. Thanks!

Please, come enjoy a stay in this unique tiny house on this beautiful land in this incredible area!

Guest access
There is plenty of space on Polly's property and you are welcome to walk around and play in the field. We have a garage on the hill above Polly where we store a few things. Please explore on the hill, but be aware that there is an old foundation that may have tripping hazards. Thanks!

Other things to note
Wildcat Polly is located about 100 yards off Wildcat Canyon road and 1/4 mile to the turn to Lake Nighthorse on County Road 210. She's one of the closest houses to the lake and has easy, fast access into town driving either road.

Delightful Home in a Beautiful Location

This tiny house was perfect for our 2-night stay. We had great directions and support from hosts, and appreciated having a place to grill and eat in the middle of a long road trip. Easy access to trails, we enjoyed a stroll along the Animas River.
