Great location- we walked most everywhere, & the subway is close as well. Beds are comfy, coffee is yummy, kitchen is well equipped, & the little things you might need are available. As another reviewer shared, the space is much smaller than the pictures suggest, but it was an I-should-have-known lesson in NYC living. The bathroom, specifically, is very tight and may not be for everyone. Dzmitry offers timely and helpful communication. Would stay again!

Dzimitry was an excellent house and check 8n was a breeze. He also provide a lot of recommendations for restaurants, coffee shops, and shops in the area. While the rooms were a little smaller than they appeared in the pictures, they met the need for the three of us . The laundry machines was the only surprise as they were not in the unit as imp, ied, but in a basement laundry room the required money, but that was my assumption. Not many NYC apartments have on premise laundry. The location was perfect. Two subway stations within easy walking distance made travel a breeze. Also the theatre district was extremely close. All around a great stay.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review, Larry! It was a real pleasure hosting you. I’m glad you enjoyed the location, found check-in easy, and that my local recommendations helped make your stay even better. I also appreciate your note about the room size and the laundry—many NYC apartments can be a bit more compact than they appear in photos, and I’m happy the apartment still worked well for your group. Thank you for pointing out that the laundry setup met your needs despite being in the basement. You’re welcome back anytime, and I’d be delighted to host you again on your next trip to New York. Safe travels!
Thank you for your kind words and for choosing to stay with us! We’re thrilled you enjoyed the convenient location near Times Square and the theaters. It was a pleasure hosting you, and we truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. We’d love to welcome you back on your next trip to New York!
The apartment was in an excellent position, close to subways, Times Square etc, with plenty of littles places to eat around it. I must say it wasn't overly large but it was ok for 3 women even though the bathroom was very small. The laundry in the building was very convenient and it cost only US 2.50 per load (need your own detergent). Well equipped kitchen if you want to cook. Secure building was well which was great.Only disadvantages were that you cannot open windows to get fresh air and the key should be left in a lock-box for when you arrive rather than wait for the owner to come and open up. Instructions can be left in the unit in a folder. We had to wait 45 mins outside. Sometimes it takes a while for phone to start working so contact can take long. All in all a great little place to stay.

Thank you Maria for your review.
The arrival time was coordinated with the guest in advance. However, the guest arrived earlier than the time they had originally provided and notified us only a few minutes before arrival. As a result, they waited approximately 15 minutes, not 45 minutes as stated in the review. The check-in manager arrived according to the previously agreed schedule.
Regarding the windows, no questions or concerns were raised during the stay. The windows do open, but they are designed to open from the top rather than from the bottom, which is common for certain ground-floor apartments. Had the guest asked, we would have been happy to explain their operation.
We also accommodated additional requests during the stay, including providing a clothes drying rack upon request. Every request communicated to us was addressed promptly. If any other concerns had been raised during the stay, we would have gladly assisted with those as well.
What is disappointing is that none of these concerns were communicated while the guests were in the apartment. Instead, they were mentioned only after departure, which left no opportunity to provide assistance or clarification during the stay.
We encourage all guests to contact us during their visit with any questions or concerns. We are always available and happy to help.

We had a great stay! Our host was excellent and very accommodating and made everything easy. Everything was incredibly clean and fresh, we had everything we needed, and the beds were comfortable. There was plenty of room for us, and even for 3 to stay with the sofa bed in the living room (which was also comfortable to sleep on). We stayed for several days and had no complaints. The location was amazing for our work in the Garment District, the building and apartment itself were very quiet, and overall so convenient. Again, everything was spotless and homey, there was a comforting feel the space. We would stay again!

Thank you for being my guests. Looking forward to hosting you again.
There are pros and cons to this stay. The biggest pro is the location, you are easily walkable to many sites and a major subway is at your door step. The apartment is as pictured, though the pictures are shot in a way that doesn't convey the actual size, it is not spacious by any standard definition of the word. Everything did work with maybe a bit of help or just the right touch. However, the rental itself is sketchy. The address on VRBO is not where you will be staying. Morning of the stay I was sent a message, not through VRBO platform I just realized, to go to a different address. This building is not the shiny new one of the original listing. While there it was a typical apartment living situation in a ground floor apartment of an old building. When the air conditioning quit on a hot day and we were told to turn it off, while it was 80 in the apartment, and use fans I realized that every window had been disabled from opening. This made me realize the the single smoke detector near the door was the only one and the only eggress from the apartment was the door. Lastly, when we left we were instructed to leave the keys in a lock box across the street on a city iron fence around a tree. All this is to say know what your getting into. If I could go back, for this price, I probably wouldn't have chosen this place. I definitely wouldn't have stayed knowing all the details. I can get over the likely illegal sublet, but the lack of safety precautions doesn't sit well with me.

Several statements in this review are inaccurate and need clarification.
First, the building has always been accurately represented. The listing clearly describes an older New York residential building, and at no point have we advertised it as a newly constructed luxury property. Many guests specifically choose this location because of its authentic New York character and exceptional location.
Second, being on the ground floor is a benefit for many travelers, especially families and guests with luggage, as it eliminates the need to carry bags up multiple flights of stairs.
Third, the air conditioner operated throughout the entire stay without any reported issues. The guest informed us of a problem at approximately 9 PM on Sunday evening, only a few hours before departure. The unit had frozen due to continuous operation and required a simple reset. Since it was late Sunday night, immediate replacement or service was not possible. As a temporary solution, multiple fans available in the apartment were offered so the guest would not be left without cooling.
Fourth, the windows do open. They are designed to open from the top for safety reasons, which is common in many ground-floor apartments. No questions regarding window operation were ever raised during the stay.
Fifth, concerns regarding emergency exits are misplaced. The apartment fully complies with applicable safety requirements, including smoke detection equipment. Emergency egress is through the main entrance, as is standard for many residential apartments. Windows are not intended to serve as primary evacuation routes.
Finally, returning keys to a lockbox is a standard self-checkout procedure used by thousands worldwide. The apartment is equipped with smoke detectors and fire safety equipment and complies with applicable safety standards.
Most importantly, despite staying for nearly a week, the guest never reported any of these concerns during the stay and never requested assistance regarding safety, windows, the building, or the checkout process. We are always available to help our guests and would have gladly addressed any questions had they been raised at the time.
We loved staying here for our family Christmas vacation in NYC! My family and I had plenty of room in this 2 bedroom apartment. There was a Starbucks on the corner right next to a bagel shop so we were in a prime location and the subway was only 2 blocks up the street to make for easy access to head uptown. The place was clean and had everything we needed! We were a little cold on our first night and the owner brought us in 2 heaters to make sure we were comfortable. The bathroom is a little small but worked just fine for our stay and we had plenty of hot water for everyone to take a shower. My daughter slept on the couch very well and the beds were very comfortable. We also walked the 10 minutes up the road and got right on the Circle Line boat for a beautiful 2 hour tour around the entire island. We would definitely stay here again when we come back!

Why they chose this property
One specific and interesting thing about Hell’s Kitchen is its theater connection. It’s right next to Broadway and the Theater District, so for decades it’s been home to actors, dancers, and musicians. After a show, you’ll often spot performers grabbing food or drinks at neighborhood spots — which makes it feel like you’re part of the behind-the-scenes Broadway world.
Tourists especially love it because: • The food scene is incredible — 9th Avenue is lined with every type of restaurant you can imagine, from authentic ramen and Mexican street food to Michelin-starred dining. • It feels authentic — unlike some overly touristy parts of Manhattan, Hell’s Kitchen still has that “real New York” energy, with smaller bars, mom-and-pop shops, and old tenement buildings alongside modern high-rises. • Location, location, location — you’re a short walk to Times Square, Central Park, and the Hudson River, but without being right in the chaos of Midtown.
What makes this property unique
It’s a very quiet and comfortable apartment, away from the noise of the city. It’s located on the first floor and offers easy access.
