The Space:
Tucked away on a quiet gravel drive, Manderley House welcomes guests with its elegant blend of stone and wood finishes. Expansive windows throughout the home bathe the interior in natural light and provide serene forest views that shift beautifully with the seasons while stylish rugs and cozy throws lend warmth and add character to multiple spaces.
Step into the thoughtfully designed layout, with plenty of nooks to gather. To the right, a sleek, modern kitchen awaits featuring soft grey cabinetry, white quartz countertops, a classic subway tile backsplash, high-end appliances, and a spacious island perfect for gathering. Adjacent, the cozy living room invites you to unwind with a plush gray sofa, a fireplace set against a light-toned tile wall, a TV, and floor-to-ceiling windows with easy access to the pool.
To the left, a bright and airy dining and lounge area provides an ideal space for meals and moments of relaxation. A long wooden dining table with sculpted chairs sets the scene for shared dinners, while a cozy black sofa and a curated bookshelf filled with books and decor complete the space with charm.
Upstairs, the primary suite features a king-sized bed alongside a twin bed, floor-to-ceiling windows and an ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower. Downstairs, two guest bedrooms provide restful retreats. The first guest room features a queen-sized bed, and tall bookshelves filled with an assortment of books for relaxed browsing. The second guest room also offers a queen-sized bed, and both rooms share access to a bathroom with a walk-in shower.
Outdoors, multiple lounge areas offer space to unwind or entertain. Spend sun-drenched days by the pool, fire up the grill for an alfresco dinner, or gather around the firepit under the stars. Whether you're soaking up summer vibes or enjoying crisp evenings by the fire, Manderley House blends modern comfort with timeless rural charm—perfect for your next countryside escape.
The Neighborhood:
Discover the charm of the Ghent and the surrounding Hudson Valley with some of our favorite local spots. Nearby Chatham and Kinderhook offer a number of great stops. Start your day with a cozy brunch at Bartlett House, then stroll through town for a little retail therapy at The Chatham Bookstore, and OK Pantry. Stock up on artisan cheeses at Bimi’s Cheese Shop and Olde Hudson (ODB Deli)—perfect for crafting the ultimate charcuterie board. In warmer months, head to Samascott Orchards to pick your own seasonal produce. Catch a performance at PS21, a celebrated hub for contemporary theater, dance, and music. When it’s time to dine, we love The People’s Pub, The Aviary in Kinderhook, and Ben Gable Savories for something delicious. Sip something local with a pint from Chatham Brewing or a glass from Hudson Chatham Winery. Looking for the perfect bottle? Visit Kinderhook Bottle Shop for thoughtfully curated wines. And before heading back to Manderley House, treat yourself to a scoop (or two) at Del’s Roadside.
Hudson is lively, with a unique blend of shops, galleries, and eateries. In summer, explore the vibrant farmer's market, showcasing local produce and crafts. Stroll along Warren Street's cobblestone sidewalks, indulging in boutique shopping and art galleries. For a taste of Hudson's rich history, visit the Hudson Opera House or take a historic walking tour. As winter blankets the town, Warren Street transforms into a cozy winter wonderland. Warm up in quaint cafes and restaurants offering seasonal delights. Embrace the festive spirit with holiday markets and events. Don't miss the Winter Walk, a magical celebration with twinkling lights, live music, and a cheerful atmosphere.
Wherever you go, you’re never far from something special.
Getting Around:
Manderley House is 2.5 hours from New York City. A car is essential for getting there and exploring the area. The main access routes are the Taconic State Pkwy, NY-9H S and Sprain Brook Pkwy S. We strongly recommend a 4x4 or a car with four-wheel drive, especially in winter, to handle snow and gravel roads.
Other Things to Note:
Cooling: There are split units located in each bedroom and the living room for your comfort.
* Please note that the pool is available during the summer season only. Please inquire regarding opening and closing dates.
