Charming, rustic cottage that sits in a very calm, protected bay with a view of the channel and the ships passing as they slowly go up and down the St. Lawrence River.
There are 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom with a living room, and sunroom and kitchen. Two of the bedrooms have full/double size beds with TVs in each. The third bedroom has twin beds in it. Each bedroom has air-conditioning for the extremely hot, humid, nights. (This is a summer cottage and there is no heat, except for space heaters.)
And there are ceiling fans through out the cottage. (Please note: the ceilings are low in the cottage)
The kitchen was redone in the Spring of 2018, with new cabinets, full propane stove, microwave, dishwasher and countertops. The new kitchen allows the chef to prepare and/or clean up, while talking to their quests as they sit in either the living room and/or the sunroom. Never missing out on a conversation. Don't feel like cooking inside....There is a gas grill with a side burner for all your barbecuing needs, with necessary cooking utensils.
There is also a nice fire pit for late night fires, ghost stores and s'mores.
There is a private floating dock and a large deck to sit and enjoy the view, while you get lost in your dreams.
Internet TV is available with guest options. There is a 50" inch TV in the living room and TV in 2 of the bedrooms,
There is also WiFi for those who need to stay connected or may need to get some work done while away. Password is provided upon arrival. Cellular service is generally very good. Owners have Verizon service and have never had a problem.
Children and pets are welcome, but please contact the owner directly, in regards to the pets. There is a pet fee of $150 per pet
The St. Lawrence River offers some of the best fishing in NY State. However, if fishing is not your thing, there are many local shops, wineries, play grounds and Clayton Boat Tours actually runs right out of the same bay. So much to do you will run out of time.
Then again, you may just be happy sitting, reading a book and looking at all of the beauty!!
Please note: There is a cleaning fee of $250.
(Due to COVID 19; the cleaning service requires at least 4 hours to properly clean the cottage and provide the cleanest environment possible. Should you have any questions/concerns, please inquire.)

About the host
Hosted by Darla Chase
Our cottage is our "Happy Place". I ordinaly purchased the cottage in 2001 and knew instantly that this would be the place that would always bring me peace when I needed it.
When I met my partner in crime, Esteban, and introduced him to the "River"; he was on the tail end of his 34 year military career to our country. He too instantly fell in love with the "River" and the peace that he found there. It was his idea to begin renting the cottage, so we could make updates and improvements. It is our goal, when I retire as a social worker, to live at the cottage for the warm months and snowbird for the cold months... perhaps southwest. Every penny we make renting goes back into the cottage we love.
We recently adopted an amazingly young son who keeps us even more busy with football, lacrosse and various other activities; but we always find ourselves back at the "River" to re-group and find our peace... Even our son, Teyo, enjoys the beauty and comfort the River brings a person. 😊
We hope that those who rent it enjoy their time they spend here and are able to create beautiful long lasting memories.
Why they chose this property
The cottage is conveniently located to many attractions, wonderful restaurants and beautiful sunsets. We have floating docks, so water levels are not a problem; whether high or low. While rustic, we try keep it warm and welcoming. Making improvements yearly.
We only ask that you treat our cottage with respect as you would treat your own home
Thank you
