About the host
Hosted by Naomi Benamy

Frankly, I never thought I'd end up living here but - you see, I met a man. On a ski trip - Alps - chalet - fireplace - well, it's been over twenty years. I can't give you the complete insider's guide to France yet, (I believe that takes three generations) but I can give you an ex-New Yorker's guide to this fabulous Valley of Kings. We'd started in Paris, of course - our first studio was my husbands - that's where we lived once we decided to share a continent. We were there until our son was about negative-one-month old, and we didn't want to have to convert the bidet into a bassinet. Once we moved, I started renting out that apartment and everything fell into place. As an architect, I loved fixing up the apartments, and as an ex-pat, I loved meeting the people who come to enjoy their vacations here.
Now, we’ve made the move out to the Loire Valley. We've renovated two glorious properties, creating several fabulous vacation homes, you’ve got to see the pictures. The locations are perfect for exploring the region – it has so much to offer! Castles, vineyards, hiking, canoeing, bicycle riding - I never get tired of the walk from the Clos Lussault along the Loire River to Amboise. I can't give you the complete insider's guide to this fabulous region yet (I believe that takes minimally three generations) but I can give you an ex-New Yorker's guide to our adoptive Valley of the Kings.

Why they chose this property
If you are looking to spend some time in the Loire Valley, this location is perfect – Amboise is about five kilometers in one direction, Montlouis is about 6 kilometers in the other direction. In Amboise, you have the royal castle and Clos Lucé, Leonardo da Vinci’s residence, which houses many of his experiments, designs and paintings. The Loire River is just down the road, there are beautiful hikes and trails, we are right on the principle bicycle route of the Loire Valley, there are canoe rentals on the Ile d'Or and hot air balloon excursions. You are close to a plethora of castles, in the heart of the wine region and a half-hour drive to Tours, to Beauval Zoo and many other parks and places of interest.
What makes this property unique
Our 'Clos Lussault" runs along the rue du Village in the small hamlet of Lussult-sur-Loire, about 5 kilometers from Amboise, 6 kilometers from Montlouis and 23 kilometers from Tours. It has three traditional houses with caves, plus an entirely troglodytic vacation rental home, three courtyards, a garden and private parking. The vacation rental houses are connected by a series of caves which we have renovated. They had previously been used in winemaking and as a museum of viticulture, we have preserved all of the wine presses and fascinating materials left from that era. The entire ambiance creates an extraordinary, unique experience.
