We stayed for our 30 year anniversary. The location was prefect and very tranquil. Little details were very thoughtful. The twinkle lights sets a mood and the fireplace that heats the tree house kept us warm during the fall nights.

We had an absolutely wonderful time in the treehouse. No cell phone service or TV, a relaxing stream and no stress was just what we needed. The cabin is well furnished, checking was easy and the bonus shower rounded out an excellent stay. We will be coming back again and have already recommended to our friends.

Such a magical experience — words can hardly do it justice. From the sound of the creek flowing through the pine forest just across from the treehouse, to the outdoor bed draped with a canopy and fairy lights, to the patio overlooking this enchanting forest scene — every detail transports you to a place you may not have felt in a long time. It’s the perfect spot for romance and a true tech detox.Even in August, Vermont nights are cool, so we stayed cozy while enjoying the forest breeze and nature’s soundtrack. This “return to earth” retreat is ideal for those who crave the peace of camping but still appreciate the comforts of a forest cabin. Our host was absolutely wonderful — warm, thoughtful, and welcoming — greeting us with a basket of treats and fresh flowers. We can’t wait to come back for a longer stay next time!

If you want to get off the grid completely and commune with nature, you couldn't do better than this treehouse! No cell reception, no TV or wifi (wifi is available at the main house, just not the treehouse), perched in trees in a grove of mainly Hemlock and Balsam, right next to a lovely creek cascading over rocks. Stone City has a wood-fired sauna, hot tub, and that cold, refreshing stream. Great location for relaxing. We hiked to a nearby lake where there's public access for swimming and kayaking, it's also a perfect location for daytrips in the Northeast Kingdom.

I was born and raised among trees and nature in upstate New York and moved to Vermont on my 18th birthday and never turned back! I love the people and the beauty of this state. My favorite things are my family, friends, travel, and working on developing my glamping business, Stone City Treehouse and Glamping! It’s important to me to help build strong community and a positive future for our country and the planet. I’m a Virgo INFJ! ☺️

Why they chose this property

Welcome to Stone City Treehouse & Glamping Retreat, nestled in the serene beauty of northern Vermont. I’m a single mother, nonprofit professional, and the proud steward of this land, where I’ve lived for the past 24 years. This is where I raised my two children, surrounded by the peace and beauty of nature. The stream that runs alongside our home has long been a source of inspiration, and it sparked the vision for creating this retreat—a space where others can also reconnect with the natural world. I’ve built this retreat from the ground up, with a focus on sustainability, community, and a deep respect for the land. Much of the work has been done by me, but I’m fortunate to have the support of friends and neighbors who share my vision. Over the years, I’ve become tightly woven into the fabric of our local community, and this retreat is not just a project—it’s an extension of the spirit of togetherness that has shaped my life here. In a world where it’s easy to feel disconnected from nature and each other, I believe we need both more than ever. More than just a place to stay, this retreat offers a chance to slow down, breathe deeply, and rediscover the healing power of the natural world. It’s a place to embrace the quiet, to reflect, and to reconnect with the sense of community that nourishes us all. In addition to our treehouses, we offer a peaceful wood-fired sauna tucked into the woods—a sanctuary for relaxation and reflection. We’ve also expanded our forest spa with an outdoor shower and tub and cozy sitting areas, all designed to help you unwind and fully immerse yourself in the beauty of Vermont. We're excited to add a cedar hot tub in 2026! Whether you’re here for a peaceful retreat or simply to experience the unique charm of this land, I’m honored to share this special place with you, where nature and community come together in harmony. "Stay cozy, stay wild!" -Heather Davis
