We had a great stay! Cabin was clean and comfortable. Owners were quick to respond when needed. Driveway definitely needed the 4wd but we expected that. Would stay again!

Thank you so much for the great review! We’re glad you had a wonderful stay and found the cabin clean and comfortable. We’re also happy we could be quick to respond when you needed us. And yes, that driveway can definitely be an adventure! 😄 We’d love to have you back again!
House was clean and had everything that was described in the listing. You definitely need a 4-wheel drive vehicle to get down to it. Didn't like, no curtains.

Thank you for the feedback. We are working with the owner to get some window coverings. Up until recently it was the only property out that way, so it was private. We hope that you stay with us again!
Nice cabin in the woods. You definitely need a 4 wheel drive to get to the place, it is a steep gravel hill, but in a 4WD truck it was no problem. Nice and peaceful place.

Glad you were able to get to the cabin without issue. Thank You for staying with us.
The cabin was very cute. It would have been nice to have curtains though. It says the cabin is private, but you can see 4 other cabins nearby, especially one right above this one. It was peaceful and lovely listening to the birds. It would be nice if the cabin had Kleenex, salt, more than two rolls of toilet paper. These things would make the stay better. The property is dug up a lot and I found a bunch of glass bottles and cans not to far from the cabin. They aren't kidding about 4 wheel drive. It is quite precarious getting down to the cabin. There are also some critters living in the wall of the bedroom. I wasn't happy that the cabin was still being cleaned when I arrived almost two hours after check in time. The company that rents this out was kind, but it took a lot of tries to contact them. I had driven from WI and was tired. They did refund a small portion of the rental fee. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. The Red River Gorge is a beautiful place to hike as well.

Thank you for your feedback—we’re glad to hear you enjoyed the cabin overall and had a chance to experience the beauty of the Red River Gorge.
We do want to address a few of your concerns. Prior to arrival, we send guests a list of suggested items to bring, which includes things like extra paper products and pantry staples such as salt.
We apologize that housekeeping was still finishing up when you arrived. That’s not typical, scheduling can occasionally get off track. We understand how frustrating that is, especially after a long drive, and we appreciate your patience.
This cabin is a newer build, and there is ongoing development in the surrounding area, which can affect the landscape and nearby views.
We also appreciate your note about the curtains and will take that into consideration. Regarding the road access, 4WD is required and we do try to communicate that clearly in advance.
We’re sorry to hear about the delay in communication when you were trying to reach us. That’s something we’re actively working to improve so guests can get quicker assistance when needed.

The cabin looks nice in pictures but the door to the bedroom doesn’t cover the opening, bathroom faucet about to come off the sink, kitchen sink faucet sprayed everywhere, and moldy ceilings from moisture, bed end tables are barely hanging on the wall.BRING WATER - the sulphur and iron of the well is terrible. Showers left you smelling and did not want to brush our teeth with it. Needs a water softener installed. The place was not clean when we arrived. Dog hair on the floor, cobwebs in the shower, hair in the shower, a moldy wooden spatula in the dishwasher that must have been in there for weeks, couch had hair and crumbs on it and the bedding had stains on it. Bring towels- provided were 2 bath towels, 1 hand towel, 2 washcloths for a 5 day stay and there is no access to the washer/dryer. There is only one curtain in the entire place which is over the sliding doors to the bedroom so keep in mind you feel exposed at night and then the sun comes in early. They were doing construction up the road so a truck had parked up on the top of the hill and could see right into the bathroom and kitchen so be cautious. We stayed out most of the day to hike without coming back because the drive back to get to the cabin was awful. It was a 5 min drive from the road and even with 4WD 4x4 it was such a trek back there after any rain and then you had to make sure cars weren’t coming over the hills because it is one lane. No outside trash cans/bins so we had to keep any trash inside.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are truly sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations and that you encountered these cleanliness and maintenance issues. This is certainly not the standard we aim to provide for our guests.
We take your comments very seriously and want to assure you that we are actively working on all of the issues you mentioned, including deep cleaning, structural repairs, and addressing the well water.
We also wanted to clarify a few details regarding the property:
Washer/Dryer: There is a washer and dryer located inside the cabin for guest use, though we apologize if its location or access was not clear during your stay.
Well Water: We do state in our property description that the cabin is on a well system and recommend that guests bring their own drinking water, but we are looking into a water softener to improve the overall quality.
Trash Bins: We do not have standard outside trash cans because the local wildlife will tear into them and scatter garbage. However, we understand the inconvenience of keeping trash indoors and are actively working on sourcing animal-proof bins for the property.
Your feedback is invaluable to us as we make these necessary improvements to ensure a much better experience for future guests. We appreciate your honesty and hope you were still able to enjoy your hiking trips in the area.
