Walden Cabin Yellowstone

It's the perfect cabin for anyone who wants to write, hike, fish, or explore the vast wilderness. Spare, but delightful, the cabin provides all the necessary amenities-- WiFi, phone, one full bed, a bathroom, and a full kitchen. *SUPPORT COOKE CITY/SILVER GATE* The June 2022 flooding of southern Montana was devastating.


The space
This cabin is located in a relatively secluded area just a stone's throw away from the highway. It is the main cabin of the property. In this cabin, there is one lofted bedroom (no door) with a double bed in the upstairs, along with a dresser. There is a second cabin on the property that is listed separately with a queen bedroom loft, kitchenette with stove and fridge, a bathroom and a futon bed in the common area. This cabin is called Hemingway Cabin Yellowstone. If you have a larger group, you can rent both cabins together by messaging us directly and accepting our alteration request (dependent on availability). The cabin conforms to the "tiny house" movement, but is fully equipped and very comfortable. We recommend no more than 2 guests for this cabin. Additionally, the stairs up to the lofted bedroom are quite steep, but there are handles.

There is absolutely no cellular phone service in this area, no matter your provider. Please be prepared and bring all entry information and directions with you by printing it or taking a digital screen shot.

Cooke City is very small and does not have a traditional grocery store. We suggest shopping for items you'll need in Cody, Gardiner or Red Lodge.
