What a wonderful and relaxing stay. Beautiful creekside cabin that was a perfect delight. The hosts and caretakers were the best, and we would definitely stay here again. Thank you!
This was our 4th trip to Silver Gate and we have always stayed in a new cabin on each visit. This will likely be our new spot going forward. The hosts, Greta and Richard, were absolutely wonderful and they had the property in perfect condition for our arrival. The chalet was perhaps the cleanest VRBO we have ever stayed in and you can tell they put a lot of care and effort in keeping the property in top condition. The location is also perfect being right next to the Log Cabin Cafe and across the street from the White Bark Lodge restaurant and bar. You can walk everywhere in Silver Gate which is super convenient and fun for children. The creek and grass area was also perfect for the whole family to play. I really cannot say enough positive things about this cabin. I’m hopeful we will be staying here again next year!
The Chalet is a beautiful cabin in a great location. Right in the heart of Silver Gate with an amazing property - creek side and mountain views! Greta was very friendly and welcoming. The owners also own the Log Cabin Cafe next door which has delicious food. This is a great stay to use as a gateway to Lamar Valley and the Beartooth Highway.
Wonderful cabin in the middle of Silver Gate. Everything we needed and we loved spending evening at the fire pit and fishing right at the edge of the property.
My friend and I enjoyed the cabin and the quaint, small town of Silver Gate and neighboring town of Cooke City!! The location is perfect to begin the beautiful Beartooth Highway to Red Lodge and enter Yellowstone National Park. So interesting to realize that this cabin was a gas station so many years ago!
This was an amazing place. From our care-taker greeting & orientation, to our morning fires, to the Log Cabin Cafe right next store, to the Range Rider Inn right across the street. Silver-gate and this “Chalet” restored our spirits and left us hungry to return!

Great cabin right next to a old log restaurant with great breakfast. has a little steam on property to fish in we caught several trout. You can literally hike into Yellowstone from your cabin like a mile hike. There is not a lot of people around. If you are looking for a place to disconnect this is your place.
We just returned from an incredible stay at this charming cabin just minutes away from the Northeast entrance of Yellowstone National Park-and could not be happier with our experience. From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted with warm rustic charm. The cabin was clean and thoughtfully stocked with everything we could need. Comfortable beds, a well-equipped kitchen, and charming rustic decor made it feel like a home away from home. We relaxed by the creek that runs through the property and built a fire most nights and just took in the beauty around us.The host was exceptional-quick to respond and very friendly. You can tell they truly care about their guests having the best experience. We can't wait to return!
The location of the cabin was exactly what we were looking for, we were able to be in the park at 6:00 AM, 5 min drive from cabin. We saw Bison, Bear, Coyote, Elk, Pronghorn, and Ram, it was exciting! The bed was so comfortable, I wished we could have taken it home, and the night sky from the bed was a welcome surprise. There was a full moon while we were there that would shine through the window - so beautiful. We enjoyed the fire by the creek at night watching the sunset, and the fireplace inside before bed.
TV and WIFI were good, which is rare in that area.
Great location, quiet and relaxing.
This stay was one of our most relaxing trips yet as a family. We loved the outdoor fire pit, the creek, and the convenience of the general store across the street. The cabin was perfect, the beds were comfy and we had everything we needed. Silver Gate is such a gem and I hope to return some day. We did breakfast at The Log Cabin Cafe next door one morning, we got shakes from Stop The Car Trading Post one evening (maybe two 🙃), dinner from Range Rider Lodge one night, and multiple stops to the General Store for snacks, drinks, and grocery restocks.
We spent hours down by the creek in the backyard, my 4 and 5 year old loved playing on the rocky beach and in the water.

Silvergate stay
The location is great. Quality of cabin for the price was lacking and disappointing. The floor of the cabin was so uneven it was a hazard. The statement of a fully equipped kitchen was overstated to say the least. Cleanliness of the overall cabin was fine but had to scrub dishes before use after having to listen to an orientation on how to do dishes which was insulting. We left the kitchen and cabin cleaner than when we arrived. Would not stay again by choice
We had a wonderful stay at The Chalet in Silvergate. The cabin was clean, well- stocked, and in a perfect location. The proximity to the Northeast area of Yellowstone was incredible. We were able to be at the park in minutes, and had the ability to explore the Lamar Valley before the crowds arrived. We had a view of the mountains, a running stream, the delightful town of Silvergate, and were wonderfully surprised during our stay with a beautiful late spring snowfall. The sight of a moose against the snow was such a treat -and one of the great highlights of our trip.We were lucky enough to meet the owners, Kip and Stefanie, who ensured things were ready for the season. They provided so many tips for places to see and things to do while in the area. Their son, Isaiah, and his wife, run The Log Cabin Cafe next to The Chalet. The meals there are amazing and everyone is so very warm and welcoming; you end up feeling like family. The hosts, Greta and Richard LaBorde are two of the most wonderful, warm people we have known. They were so attentive to all the details(even building a fire for us the first night); texting us when cool animals were close by(including a mama grizzly with cubs and a mama and baby moose); providing details on weather, the Beartooth Hwy, and other incredible sights in the area. Greta and Rich are both filled with so much information. They have a true passion for nature and the beautiful area. The Chalet is the perfect getaway. We can't wait to return!
We originally had booked this property because it’s obviously beautiful, but because it was also super close to the northeast entrance. When the flood happened we thought about canceling all together. I am so glad we did not. The property is so cozy and peaceful. It is right on the creeks and we spent most of our nights having a little fire. The town itself is very small, but everyone was wonderful. Just a short drive to Cooke city where there are more options for food. The owners really put their heart and soul into this wonderful piece of heaven. We had a wonderful trip and are hoping to come back soon!!!! We can’t thank you enough John, Kate, Greta, and Rich.
Much love.
My family had a wonderful experience! The cabin was comfortable, clean and just what you hope a log cabin to be! The property managers were available, friendly and helpful. We loved sitting by the creek either with our morning coffee or by the fire in the evenings! The views out of the bedroom windows are amazing!
My Wie and I had a great fun stay in Silver Gate. John was great with all the communication, loved the location and the cabin was just beautiful and as pictured!
We enjoyed every moment at this quaint and cozy cabin. The view is to die for You can see the moon at night from your bed as well as the snow capped mountain right outside the window we enjoyed the fireplace at night and the comfortable cozy bed. Even though there is a good bit of foot traffic all around it was very private. If your looking for modern and sleek this is not it My only suggestion would be in regards to the kitchen. It could benefit from a few more cooking and storage bowels. Definitely pick up your groceries in the closest major town. We went late in the season and things were closing down. Be prepared to cook and you will need to bring everything you might need to prepare a meal.
It was comfortable and relaxing and I would go back tomorrow if I could
Everything was clean and tidy. All was just as described, although it was bigger than it looked in the pictures. The manager was very friendly and informative.
This cabin is such a great location for exploring the NE corner of YNP.
We loved returning to the cabin after our long days of exploring. We would pour a beverage and enjoy watching the sunset while sitting at the edge of the creek.
