We take all guest concerns seriously and want to address the points raised for clarity, both for you and for future guests reviewing this property. We do welcome pet-friendly stays, and normal shedding is absolutely expected and covered under our standard $85 pet fee. However, during checkout inspection, our cleaning team found pet hair embedded throughout the home — in crevices, on blinds, windowsills, furniture, and fixtures — requiring significantly more time and labor than a standard clean, including multiple wash cycles on linens and emptying vacuum canisters twice. This level of cleaning falls outside normal wear and is why an additional charge was applied, as outlined in our rental agreement, which you agreed to prior to check-in. We also want to note that we have future guests with pet allergies, so ensuring the home is thoroughly pet-hair-free is a health and safety necessity, not a preference. Regarding the additional charges: our rental agreement, signed at booking, authorizes charges to the card on file for incidentals including additional cleaning, damages, or rescheduling fees resulting from missed appointments — this is standard across most vacation rental agreements and was disclosed upfront, not applied without authorization. As for the dryer repair, we do not require guests to be present for routine maintenance. However, when a technician arrives and pets present a safety concern that prevents them from safely entering the home, a return trip becomes necessary, and the associated fee is passed along as outlined in our policies. We'd also like to clarify for future readers that three bath towels and a washcloth were damaged (stained with blood/makeup) during this stay. Rather than charging this to the guest, our company covered this cost through our damage waiver policy — no additional charge was applied for this issue. We strive to keep our fees fair and transparent, and we genuinely enjoy hosting pet owners — the vast majority of whom leave their pets' area exactly as they found it. We're sorry this stay didn't meet expectations, but we stand by the charges applied, all of which were disclosed and agreed to in advance.
